Cataclysm brings a number of new cooking dailies to World of Warcraft, and many are well worth doing. In addition to being a good way to level your cooking skill while earning gold and XP, you can also get unique cooking-related rewards and earn some achievements. This guide will cover all you need to know about the Azeroth, Outland, and Northrend cooking dailies available in Cataclysm.
This is a large guide, so make use of the Contents button above if you’re looking for something specific!

The new daily quests in Azeroth only require a level 10 character who has learned the Cooking skill (even if they have not leveled the profession at all). You will not need to use the skill for the quests, so you don’t have to worry about your skill level or recipes. You may only complete 1 daily quest from this category each day, and each quest giver will only offer 1 random quest from their pool of 5 dailies. It may be worth looking at which quests are available in each city before you decide which one to complete. You could check off your Let’s Do Lunch achievements, or focus on doing the quests that award the most Cooking skill or Chef’s Awards.

These dailies are vital for endgame Cooking since they are the only way to earn any of the high level Cataclysm recipes. Additionally, doing all 5 daily quests in each city earns you the “Let’s Do Lunch” achievement for that city — do all 15 dailies to earn the A Bunch of Lunch/A Bunch of Lunch achievement.

Orgrimmar
All 5 of the cooking dailies in Orgrimmar are picked up from Marogg (56.6, 62.6), who can be found at the cooking shop on the upper level of The Drag. He offers one of the following quests each day:
- Careful, This Fruit Bites Back
- Turn in x8 Prickly Pear Fruit
The plants you are looking for will be small with red fruit growing on them. They can be found along the paths in each of the four Valleys and in The Drag. If you have Herbalism, you’ll be able to see them on your minimap with Find Herbs. Click on them to loot your Prickly Pear Fruit. If you’re unlucky you may get Pricked while doing this, leaving you with a small bleed effect that will deal 5 damage over 10 seconds.
- Crawfish Creole
- Turn in x10 Muddy Crawfish
You’ll get 2 points of Cooking skill for completing this quest. You can find Muddy Crawfish crawling around any of the bodies of water in Orgrimmar. They are small level 1-5 Beasts that come in multiple colors, and you just need to click on them to pick them up. Hunters can see them on their minimap with Track Beasts, or anyone can use Tracker Snacks for the same effect. You can also use the following macro to target and mark them so they’re easier to spot:
/cleartarget
/tar Muddy Crawfish
/run SetRaidTarget("target", 1)
- Even Thieves Get Hungry
- Turn in x3 Horde Infantry Rations
You’ll be chasing down stealthed enemies with the name Orgrimmar Thief and killing them to loot their stolen Horde Infantry Rations. These thieves are level 10-11. If you are higher level and have a pet, be sure the pet does not kill them before you can land a blow, or you will not be able to loot them. You’ll find the thieves near stacks of crates that have the Horde symbol on them. Here’s a macro that will target and mark them so they’re easier to spot:
/target Orgrimmar Thief
/script if UnitName("target") and not UnitIsDead("target") and not GetRaidTargetIndex("target") then SetRaidTargetIcon("target",1); end
/cleartarget [dead]
- Everything is Better with Bacon
- Turn in x6 Swine Belly
This is the only Orgrimmar cooking daily that will send you outside the city, but you’ll get double Chef’s Awards for your trouble. Head to the area just south of Orgrimmar in Durotar and kill Mature Swine to loot their Swine Belly. These can be the Wild Mature Swine that are roaming around the area or the domesticated Mature Swine that are in the farm pens. It has a 100% drop rate, so you should only need to kill six of them.
- Stealing From Our Own
- Turn in x6 Barrel of Darkspear Rice
The barrels you’re looking for are unmarked (not the barrels with the Horde symbol on them). They are scattered around The Valley of Spirits. Click on one to get your Barrel of Darkspear Rice. Try not to think too much about the fact that one of the other dailies involves hunting down food thieves…
Thunder Bluff
Each of the Thunder bluff quests can be picked up from Aska Mistrunner (51.2, 52.2), who is located on the High Rise at the top level of the central mesa.
- Corn Mash
- Grind x6 Corn Kernels
You’ll find bowls inside many of the huts in Thunder Bluff which you can interact with to complete this quest. You’ll earn double Chef’s Awards for completing this simple task.
- “Magic” Mushrooms
- Turn in x6 “Magic” Mushrooms
The Magic” Mushrooms you’re looking for are in the Pools of Vision, the cavern underneath the Spirit Rise. There are many mushrooms in the cave, but the ones you’re looking for are smaller and may be somewhat hidden behind the larger ones. If you have Herbalism, you’ll be able to see them on your minimap with Find Herbs.
- Mulgore Spice Bread
- Turn in x5 Fresh Mulgore Spice Bread
The quest giver will give you Mulgore Spices which you will need to combine with some Spice Bread to create Fresh Mulgore Spice Bread. The Spice Bread recipe is learned automatically with the Cooking skill and can be crafted right at level 1. You’ll need 5 Simple Flour and 5 Mild Spices, which can both be purchased from Naal Mistrunner, who is right beside Aska. So you can complete this quest right there on the spot, easy-peasy.
- Perfectly Picked Portions
- Turn in Succulent Sweet Potatoes, Savory Spices, Fresh-Caught Fish, and Fresh-Hunted Fowl
This quest sends you to locate four different ingredients in Thunder Bluff, and you’ll get 2 points of Cooking skill for your trouble. These items are not purchased from vendors, they are objects in the world that you can interact with to pick up:
- Succulent Sweet Potatoes (47.8, 42.6) – on the ground at the hut with the fruit vendor
- Savory Spices (49.7, 41.8) – on the ground inside the hut with the Herbalism trainer
- Fresh-Caught Fish (56.0, 44.8) – hanging from the ceiling in the hut with the Fishing trainer
- Fresh-Hunted Fowl (51.0, 47.4) – hanging up outside the hut with the meat vendor
- Pining for Nuts
- Turn in x30 Pine Nut
For this quest, you’ll collect 6x Mulgore Pine Cone, which you’ll toast over a cooking fire to get 30 Pine Nut (each Mulgore Pine Cone gives 6 Pine Nuts). Despite the name, Mulgore Pine Cones are not obtained in the Mulgore zone but inside Thunder Bluff itself. They can be found at the base of trees scattered around the city. If you have Herbalism, you’ll be able to see them on your minimap with Find Herbs.
Undercity
All of the daily quests in Undercity can be picked up from Eunice Birch (62.6, 44.6), who you’ll find at the center of the city in the Trade Quarter, on one of the ledges connected to the bank.
- Escargot A Go-Go
- Turn in x8 Brightwater Snail
You’ll get 2 points of Cooking skill for completing this quest. You can find Brightwater Snail crawling around Brightwater Lake in Tirisfal Glades. They are small level 1-5 Beasts and you just need to click on them to pick them up. Hunters can see them on their minimap with Track Beasts, or anyone can use Tracker Snacks for the same effect. You can also use the following macro to target and mark them so they’re easier to spot:
/cleartarget
/tar Brightwater Snail
/run SetRaidTarget("target", 1)
- Fungus Among Us
- Turn in x12 Sewer Cap
The Sewer Caps you’re looking for are small mushrooms that grow in The Sewers section of Undercity. The Sewers can be accessed through an entrance in the outer ring between The War Quarter and The Apothecarium. If you have Herbalism, you’ll be able to see them on your minimap with Find Herbs.
- Lily, Oh Lily
- Turn in x10 Stillwater Lily
Stillwater Lily can be found along the southeast edge of Stillwater Pond in Tirisfal Glades. If you have Herbalism, you’ll be able to see them on your minimap with Find Herbs.
- Roach Coach
- Turn in x20 Plump Cockroach
You can loot Plump Cockroaches from Cockroach Cabins, little wooden crates that are found tucked in corners around the central ring where the Auctioneers are located. You can loot 1-3 cockroaches from each crate. Turn them in to Chef Audrey, the Food & Drink Vendor who has set up shop in the northwest section of the same ring. You’ll get 2 Chef’s Awards for this one.
- Would You Like Some Flies With That?
- Turn in x25 Bloated Fly
You’ll be looking for hunks of Fly-Covered “Meat” near the Meat Wagons that are scattered around the city. There is one in the outer section of each quarter plus one in the inner ring near the Auctioneers and one in between the Rogues’ Quarter and the Magic Quarter. You can loot 1-5 Bloated Fly from each one.

- A Fisherman’s Feast
- Turn in x5 Gigantic Catfish
You have two options for obtaining Gigantic Catfish. One, you can simply go Fishing for them in the Stormwind canals or lake. You won’t need a very high skill for this, and you should catch them all fairly quickly. You can even do this while working on your Fishing Daily. The other option is to loot them from Barrel of Canal Fish that can be found beside the fishermen NPCs that are scattered along the edges of any body of water in the city. Strangely enough, if you have Herbalism, you’ll be able to see the barrels on your minimap with Find Herbs.
- Feeling Crabby?
- Turn in x6 Canal Crab
This quest awards double Chef’s Awards. You can find Canal Crab crawling around the canals in Stormwind City.
/tar Canal Crab
/run SetRaidTarget("target", 1)
- Orphans Like Cookies Too!
- Turn in x4 Confectioners’ Sugar
You can obtain Confectioners’ Sugar in two ways. The first option is to loot it from Sack of Confectioner’s Sugar, small flour bags that can be found on the floor in the kitchens of Stormwind City. It is also sold in limited quantities from certain vendors for about 10 silver. There are sacks near each of the vendors as well as in one other location:
- Colin Field (65.8, 31.6) at The Golden Keg in The Dwarven District
- Connor Rivers (51.0, 95.6) at the Blue Recluse in The Mage Quarter

- Thurman Mullby (64.6, 72.0) at Everyday Merchandise in The Trade District
- You can also find the sacks on the floor of The Slaughtered Lamb in The Mage Quarter
- Penny’s Pumpkin Pancakes
- Turn in x6 Stormwind Pumpkin
The pumpkin patch is at the Wollerton Stead, the only farm inside Stormwind City, on the north side. You can access this area through The Dwarven District if you’re traveling on the ground. When you get there, click on a glittering Stormwind Pumpkin to loot it.
- The King’s Cider
- Turn in x12 Juicy Apple
This quest awards 2 points of Cooking skill. You’ll be gathering Juicy Apples that have fallen on the ground beside the apple trees that can be found all along the city’s streets. If you have Herbalism, you’ll be able to see them on your minimap with Find Herbs.
Ironforge
All of the cooking dailies in Ironforge are picked up from Daryl Riknussun (60.2, 36.4), who you’ll find in the outer ring of The Great Forge, inside a shop beside the entrance to the Hall of Explorers.

- Turn in x6 Dun Morogh Chicken
You can find Dun Morogh Chickens wandering around Dun Morogh just outside the gates of Ironforge. They are small level 5 Beasts and you just need to click on them to pick them up. /cleartarget
/tar Dun Morogh Chicken
/run SetRaidTarget("target", 1)
- A Round for the Guards
- Feed Ironforge Rations x6 to Ironforge Guards
The quest giver will provide you with Ironforge Rations. All you have to do is use them on Ironforge Guards found around the city. They can be found all over the place guarding doors and patrolling halls, but they are particularly dense in The Commons. You’ll be unable to feed guards who have recently been fed – they’ll have a symbol above their heads to show this.
- Can’t Get Enough Spice Bread
- Turn in x10 Spice Bread
All you need to do for this quest is to cook up 10 pieces of Spice Bread. This recipe is learned automatically with the Cooking skill and can be crafted right at level 1. You’ll need 10 Simple Flour and 10 Mild Spices, which can both be purchased from Emrul Riknussun, who is right downstairs in the same building. So you can complete this quest right there on the spot, easy-peasy.
- I Need to Cask a Favor
- Turn in Cask of Drugan’s IPA
You’ll be tasked with picking up a cask of beer from Thunderbrew Distillery, the inn at Kharanos in Dun Morogh. This is a timed quest. When you pick up the cask, it will give you a 3-minute buff, and you have exactly that long to get the cask to the quest giver. The buff will also force your character run while it’s active, so you can’t mount or hearth or stop to cast anything. You can only steer. Shapeshifting will break the effect. If you’re a mage (or have one with you), you can place a Portal: Ironforge before picking up the cask to make things quicker.
- Keepin’ the Haggis Flowin’
- Turn in x1 Bag o’ Sheep Innards, x4 Sack of Oatmeal, and x5 Mild Spices
Mild Spices can both be purchased from Emrul Riknussun, who is right downstairs in the same building. Bag o’ Sheep Innards can be bought from Sognar Cliffbeard, who patrols in the Military Ward. You’ll find the Sack of Oatmeal as small flour sacks on the ground all over Ironforge, usually in corners. This quest grants 2 Chef’s Awards for your efforts.
Darnassus
The cooking quests in Darnassus can be picked up from Alegorn (50.0, 36.4), who you’ll find in the cooking shop, the southwestern-most building in the Craftsmen’s Terrace.
- Back to Basics
- Pound x6 Rice Baskets
You’ll find Rice Baskets inside many of the buildings in the Craftsmen’s Terrace and the Tradesmen’s Terrace. Click on the baskets to practice making rice flour. Then simply return to the quest giver for your reward.
The Blessed Rice Cakes can be found on a blue-glowing table near the portals inside the Temple of the Moon (43.2, 78.4). Pick them up and head to the Shrine of the Ancestors in the Warrior’s Terrace to turn in (69.2, 39.9).
- Ribs for the Sentinels
- Turn in Delicious Ribs
The quest giver will hand you some Uncooked Ribs, which you can use at a cooking fire to create Delicious Ribs. Use these on Darnassus Sentinels, the night elf guards who are scattered all over the city guarding posts and patrolling the streets. You’ll be unable to feed guards who have recently been fed – they’ll have a symbol above their heads to show this. This quest grants 2 Chef’s Awards for your efforts.
- Spice Bread Aplenty
- Turn in x10 Spice Bread
All you need to do for this quest is to cook up 10 pieces of Spice Bread. This recipe is learned automatically with the Cooking skill and can be crafted right at level 1. You’ll need 10 Simple Flour and 10 Mild Spices, which can both be purchased from Fyldan, who is right next to the quest giver. So you can complete this quest right there on the spot, easy-peasy.
- The Secret to Perfect Kimchi
- Turn in x8 Buried Kimchi Jar
This quest awards 2 points of Cooking skill. You’ll be looking for Buried Kimchi Jars that are sticking out of the ground around the Cenarion Enclave and Craftsmen’s Terrace.
Outland Daily Cooking Quests
- Rewards:
- Achievements:
The Outland cooking dailies require level 70 to pick up. They also all involve recipes that require 325 or 335 Cooking skill to craft, but you can purchase the crafted items from the Auction House if you’re unable to make them yourself. Only one of these quests will be available each day.
Completing these quests will allow you to choose between Barrel of Fish and Crate of Meat for your reward. These will contain Outland fish or meat respectively, as well as a chance at a rare Outland Cooking recipe. Unlike the other dailies in this guide, there is no currency involved and no vendor to buy from. You’ll get the rewards directly from the box you pick. Crate of Meat has only one exclusive recipe while Barrel of Fish has two.

- Turn in x15 Mana Berry
This is the only Outland Cooking daily that doesn’t require any crafted food. You can pick Mana Berry from Mana Berry Bushes found inside two of the three Eco-Domes in Netherstorm: Eco-Dome Midrealm and Eco-Dome Farfield. If you have Herbalism, you’ll be able to see them on your minimap with Find Herbs. You’ll only get one berry per bush, but there are plenty of them around and they are pretty easy to find. Just look for the sparkling shrubs with red berries on them.
- Revenge is Tasty
- Turn in Kaliri Stew
The first thing you’ll need for this quest is 3x Warp Burgers. These require 325 Cooking and 3x Warped Flesh to craft. Recipe: Warp Burger can be purchased in Terrokar Forest from Supply Officer Mills (55.8, 53.0) at Allerian Stronghold or Innkeeper Grilka (48.8, 45.0) at Stonebreaker Hold. Warped Flesh drops from Warp Hunter and Warp Stalker, level 63-65 Beasts in Terrokar Forest. You can also buy the flesh or the finished burgers from the Auction House.
Next you will need a Giant Kaliri Wing. You can get one by killing Monstrous Kaliri, level 70 Beasts at Skettis in Terrokar Forest. Hunters can see them on their minimap with Track Beasts, or anyone can use Tracker Snacks for the same effect.
Finally, you’ll have a Cooking Pot in your inventory. Click this near a cooking fire to combine the ingredients and create your Kaliri Stew.
- Soup for the Soul
- Turn in Spiritual Soup
The first thing you’ll need for this quest is 4x Roasted Clefthoof. These require 325 Cooking and 4x Clefthoof Meat to craft. Recipe: Roasted Clefthoof can be purchased in Nagrand from Uriku (56.2, 73.2) at Telaar or Nula the Butcher (58.0, 35.6) at Garadar. Clefthoof Meat drops from Clefthoofs, level 64-65 Beasts in Nagrand. You can also buy the meat or the finished product from the Auction House.
With the ingredients in hand, head to the Ancestral Grounds on the western edge of Nagrand and look for a bonfire. Here you can use the Cooking Pot in your inventory to combine the ingredients into Spiritual Soup.
- Super Hot Stew
- Turn in Demon Broiled Surprise
The first thing you’ll need for this quest is 1x Crunchy Serpent and 2x Mok’Nathal Shortribs. These require 335 Cooking and to craft and both recipes can be purchased in Blade’s Edge Mountains from Xerintha Ravenoak (62.4, 40.2) at Evergrove or Sassa Weldwell (61.2, 68.8) at Toshley’s Station. To make these recipes you will need 1x Serpent Flesh from Scalewing Serpents, level 66-67 Beasts in Blade’s Edge Mountains, and 2x Raptor Ribs from Ladespire Raptors, level 65-66 Beasts in the same zone. You can also buy the meat or the finished products from the Auction House.
With the ingredients in hand, head to Forge Camp Terror in the southwest corner of Blade’s Edge Mountains and kill an Abyssal Flamebringer, a level 70-71 Demon. Use the Cooking Pot in your inventory over its corpse to combine the ingredients into Demon Broiled Surprise.

Alliance players will receive their Cooking dailies from Katherine Lee (40.8, 65.2), who is located in Dalaran’s Alliance inn A Hero’s Welcome. Naturally, you’ll find Katherine in the kitchen! After entering the inn, you can reach the kitchen by going through the right-hand doorway under the stairs.
Horde players get their Cooking dailies from Awilo Lon’gomba (70.0, 38.6), who is found in the kitchen of The Filthy Animal, Dalaran’s Horde inn. After entering the inn, go through the doorway on the right-hand wall (across from the fireplace) to find Awilo.
For this quest, you’ll need to collect six Half Full Dalaran Wine Glasses and grab some Aged Dalaran Limburger from the wine and cheese shop One More Glass. You can collect a lot of the wine in the inn where you picked up the quest — it’s easy to spot as it sparkles like all good quest items. There is also a bunch of wine in the next location, so after clearing the inn of wine, head straight to One More Glass, which is found just north of Runeweaver’s Square at (53.5, 33.0).
Inside, look for hexagonal cheese, which can spawn in a few different locations. The cheese doesn’t sparkle like the wine, so it can be harder to find. Don’t forget to grab the rest of the wine you need here as well! If for some reason you still need more wine, there is an inn directly across the street from the cheese shop.
Once you’ve collected six half-full glasses and the aged cheese, right-click the Empty Cheese Serving Platter in your inventory (it looks like a wooden shield, because it is one) to create the Wine and Cheese Platter. That done, you can head to Legendary Leathers (36.4, 29.7) in the Magus Commerce Exchange. Inside, turn right to find Ranid Glowergold, and speak with him to turn in the quest!
- Convention at the Legerdemain/ Convention at the Legerdemain
- Turn in x4 Northern Stew and Jug of Wine
To complete this quest, you’ll need the recipe for Northern Stew, which can be learned by completing a simple quest in Howling Fjord or Borean Tundra. Bring 4 Chilled Meat with you and you’ll be able to immediately accept and turn in whatever version of Northern Cooking is available at the location you chose — part of the quest reward is the recipe for Northern Stew.
- Alliance
- Northern Cooking from Brom Brewbaster (58.2, 62.0) in Valgarde (Howling Fjord)
- Northern Cooking from Rollick MacKreel (57.8, 71.6) in Valiance Keep (Borean Tundra)
- Horde
- Northern Cooking from Thomas Kolichio (78.6, 29.4) in Vengeance Landing (Howling Fjord)
- Northern Cooking from Orn Tenderhoof (42.0, 54.2) in Warsong Hold (Borean Tundra)
That out of the way, let’s get on to how to complete this daily! Start by getting yourself 12 Chilled Meat — which you hopefully have stashed away for just such a daily — and use it to cook 4 servings of Northern Stew. You must do this first, as you cannot do the next step without having x4 Northern Stew in your bags. Next, go to the wine and cheese shop “One More Glass”, which is found just north of Runeweaver’s Square at (53.5, 33.0).
Inside (or possibly outside next to the NPC) find the sparkling jug of wine that you can interact with and loot it for the Jug of Wine you need. The jug can spawn in a few locations, so check upstairs and outside if you don’t see it when you first enter. Once you have the wine, you can head directly across the street to the Legerdemain Lounge and turn the quest in to Arille Azuregaze, who is the NPC behind the bar on your right as you enter.
Before you can start cooking your meatloaf, you’ll need to head into the Underbelly (the sewers beneath Dalaran). There you’ll find the Infused Mushrooms you need — they’re all over the place, so just wander the Underbelly until you find four. Then grab your two Chilled Meats that you hopefully have banked and use the Meatloaf Pan near a fire to create your Meatloaf. Finally, bring it to Curiosities & Moore (48.8, 57.2), found on the southern edge of Runeweaver Square. Go up the stairs, and the NPC you turn the quest in to will be through the first doorway on the left.
- Mustard Dogs!/ Mustard Dogs!
- Turn in Mustard Dog Basket
This is the only daily quest that rewards 2 Epicurean’s Awards, but it does require that you have some Rhino Meat and 4 Wild Mustard (which can be found in any of the grass inside Dalaran, and detectable by Herbalists with Find Herbs). You’ll also need to learn the Rhino Dogs recipe — fortunately, the quest giver for this daily can teach it to you. Cook up 4 Rhino Dogs in the kitchen, then head outside and to Runeweaver Square in the center of Dalaran. There, check the grassy patches for Wild Mustard.
If you don’t have four Wild Mustard, go west towards the Violet Citadel and check the grass on either side of the stairs there. If you still need more, continue circling the city, checking any area with grass. Once you have all 4 Wild Mustard, and have cooked 4 Rhino Dogs, use the Empty Picnic Basket, and you’ll create a Mustard Dog Basket. Finally, head to Krasus’ Landing in the eastern part of Dalaran, where you’ll find Archmage Pentarus. Give him the basket and you’re all done!
- Sewer Stew/ Sewer Stew
- Turn in Vegetable Stew
While you’ll once again need some Chilled Meat for this daily, the other ingredient isn’t too tough to get — you can easily reach Crystalsong Forest by using the Portal Stone found in the eastern building of Runeweaver’s Square (55.9, 46.7). If you haven’t done so already, you’ll have to accept Learning to Leave from Archmage Celindra in the same room as the Portal Stone before you can use it. After teleporting to the forest, note the Portal Stone next to where you arrived, and then head east towards the river. Follow the river southeast/east until you see the carrots sparkling on either side of the river, near (25, 42) — they can be found further east as well.
Once you have the four Crystalsong Carrots you need, you can return to Dalaran by using the Portal Stone you noted when arrived in the forest. It will bring you to a chamber above the Portal Stone in Dalaran. Get 4 Chilled Meat if you haven’t already, and then you can use a campfire or one of Dalaaran’s kitchens to create the Vegetable Stew by right-clicking the Stew Cookpot. Finally, you can head to the western sewer entrance at (35,45) and make your way downwards. Once you exit the tunnel and enter the Underbelly proper, the inn you need to find will be just ahead on the right — turn in the quest to the innkeeper (Ajay Green) and collect your reward!
