In this section of the guide, we will go over each stat that a Destruction Warlock requires and explain how they function along with any possible stat caps that you will have to consider. Fury Warriors have a similar stat priority to other Strength-based DPS specs.
Stat Priority
The stat priority for Fury Warrior changes depending on whether you choose to use Titan’s Grip or Single-Minded Fury. As a general rule from back in the old days, Titan’s Grip prefers Mastery over Haste Rating while Single-Minded Fury prefers Haste Rating over Mastery. However, both builds require a mandatory Haste Rating to ensure that your Rage Generation is as high as possible.
In the first phase of the expansion, the current BiS set will have a similar amount of Mastery for both the Titan’s Grip and Single-Minded Fury builds, however, this will change as the expansion progresses.

Strength is a primary stat, acting as the most important stat for Fury Warriors as it increases your Attack Power!
Hit Rating is the most important secondary stat after your primary stat, Strength, as you will require it to land hits on your target. As a Fury Warrior, you will need at least 8% Hit Chance to make sure that you won’t miss your Special Attacks. While it is possible to reach a “Hit Chance Hard Cap” to never miss your Normal Attacks, this is not advisable for Fury Warriors as it will seriously dampen your other stats. Additionally, Fury Warriors have access to the Precision effect which allows them to reach the 8% Hit Chance easier.
Each 120.25 Hit Rating grants a 1% Hit Chance.
Expertise Rating is the second most important secondary stat after reaching the minimum 8% Hit Chance requirement to prevent your attacks from being dodged or parried. You will need 26% Expertise to make sure that your attacks won’t be dodged, known as the Expertise Soft Cap. It is possible to reach the Hard Expertise Cap to make sure that your attacks won’t be parried, however, you should only aim to reach the 26% Expertise Soft Cap. You will gain 1% Expertise for every 30.038 Expertise Rating you acquire.
Critical Strike Rating is the most valuable stat you can acquire after reaching your Hit Rating & Expertise Rating caps! It increases the chance to deal critical strikes with your Normal Attacks and Special Attacks, synergizing perfectly with talents such as Deep Wounds. Each 179 Critical Strike Rating grants a 1% Critical Strike Chance!
Mastery is a new stat introduced in Cataclysm that enhances a specific effect for each different Specialization/Class in the game. In the case of Fury Warrior, it enhances the Unshackled Fury effect, empowering all abilities that either require you to be enraged or cause you to be enraged. This also enhances one of your most powerful cooldowns, Death Wish, increasing its overall effect.
Lastly, Haste Rating increases your overall Attack Speed, increasing the number of attacks that you will land on your target. While this stat is not as valuable for Fury Warriors as Mastery and Critical Strike Rating are, you will require a considerable amount to increase your overall Rage Generation.
Reforging
Reforging is introduced in Cataclysm as an additional way to adjust your equipment’s secondary stats. Through reforging, we can acquire a plethora of different stats in exchange for a portion of our current gear’s secondary stats. However, we may not replace any of the main stats on a piece of equipment such as Strength or Stamina.
The main stats that Fury Warrior will reforge any non-beneficial stats into are Hit Rating and Expertise Rating until the Soft Caps are reached, followed by Critical Strike Rating and Mastery!
