Reforging is a unique feature available in Cataclysm. This process allows players to modify their gear by exchanging undesirable stats for more beneficial ones. Specifically, players can replace 40% of a selected secondary stat (such as Critical Strike, Dodge, Haste, Hit, or Parry rating) or Spirit on an item with another secondary stat or Spirit that the item does not already possess.
Where to Reforge Items in Cataclysm
Players looking to reforge their items in Cataclysm should visit NPCs known as Arcane Reforgers. These special NPCs are responsible for assisting players with the reforging process and can be found in each faction’s capital city. Here are the Arcane Reforger locations:

How to Reforge
Eligible Items: Before you approach an Arcane Reforger, ensure the item you wish to reforge has an Item Level of 200 or higher, as items below this threshold are not eligible for reforging. Any type of item can be reforged, including legendaries.
- Visit an Arcane Reforger: Once you’re in the faction capital, navigate towards the ethereal area. The Arcane Reforger will be nearby.
- Initiate Reforging: With the item in your inventory, interact with the Arcane Reforger. Insert the item into the provided slot and follow the prompts to select which stats you wish to reforge.
- Payment: The cost for reforging is equal to the vendor sale value of the item you are reforging. Ensure you have sufficient gold to cover the service.
Reforgable Stats
When reforging, players can select one of the reforgable stats and replace 40% of it with another stat from the reforgable list, as long as the chosen stat is not already present on the item.
