There are some new hotfixes in the game today for Phase 4 of Cataclysm Classic which target a bug with a particular quest item and make some adjustments to Protocol Twilight Dungeons.

It seems that the Fragment of Deathwing’s Jaw was not dropping as intended following the Madness of Deathwing encounter inside the Dragon Soul raid. This issue has been fixed, and Blizzard has also implemented a way for Rogues who missed this item to obtain it. If you’re on the Patricide quest for the Fangs of the Father quest chain, and your raid already killed Deathwing this week, you should be able to find an Elementium Fragment close to the raid entrance that should contain your loot.

There are also two changes to the new Protocol Twilight difficulty for Elemental Rune Dungeons. The Gift of the Green Dragonflight buff will now increase healing done by 20% per stack, double the previous 10%. Also, stacks of Verdant Restoration can now be generated by DoTs, but this will not remove stacks of Verdant Surge.

Cataclysm Classic

  • Fixed a bug preventing Fragment of Deathwing’s Jaw from dropping as intended.
  • Added a way for rogues who defeated Deathwing prior to the hotfix above to be able to get their missed drop. Near the entrance portal of Dragon Soul there is now an Elementium Fragment that will spawn when Deathwing has been defeated. This will allow rogues who meet the following conditions to retrieve the Fragment of Deathwing’s Jaw:
    • The rogue is currently on the Patricide quest.
    • The rogue has killed Deathwing before.
    • Deathwing has been defeated in the instance.
  • Protocol Twilight Dungeons
    • Updated the Gift of the Green Dragonflight’s stacking healing buff (Verdant Restoration) to now increase healing done by 20% per stack (was 10%).
    • Damage-over-time abilities can now generate stacks of Verdant Restoration but not remove stacks of the damage buff (Verdant Surge).
