Single-Target Talent Build

The standard build for Balance Druids features a mix of active and passive key components that improve overall Damage Output, Movement, Survivability, and Crowd Control.

  • Tier I: Feline Strength is the best Tier I talent since it offers passive Movement Speed without constraints. Displacer Beast is also viable for fights where instant repositioning is required.
  • Tier II: Ysera’s Gift is the best Tier II talent since it is a passive effect that can provide endless utility if you don’t receive damage. Cenarion Ward is also viable for providing utility.
  • Tier III: Typhoon is the only viable option since Balance Druids can no longer access the ability by default. The spell is one of the best Crowd Control tools for adds in raid and dungeon environments. Mass Entanglement is useless since damage can cancel it, while Faerie Swarm is not good for PvE.
  • Tier IV: Force of Nature is this tier’s most potent Single-Target DPS enhancement and should always be picked if the fights don’t feature many adds. Incarnation is better suited for AoE scenarios and has a more difficult activation process.
  • Tier V: Ursol’s Vortex is the best option for this tier since it can be used from afar and creates a powerful Crowd Control chain when combined with Typhoon.
  • Tier VI: Heart of the Wild is objectively the better DPS-enhancing effect since it is always active, even if it only grants a 6% Intellect Increase. Nature’s Vigil is the other viable Single-Target effect, although it can lead to weaker results if not timed precisely with other offensive cooldowns.

AoE Build

The AoE Standard Build for Balance Druids focuses on improving the performance of Eclipse and precisely timing offensive cooldowns to maximize Damage Output in AoE environments. The build uses the same talents for the first 3 tiers as the Single-Target build and the same Tier V talent!

  • Tier I: Feline Swiftness is the best option.
  • Tier II: Ysera’s Gift is the best option.
  • Tier III: Typhoon is the best option.
  • Tier IV: Incarnation is the better option for AoE environments, although it can be hard to setup. It requires you to be close to reaching Eclipse before activation to maximize the Damage Output. The effect is also directly tied to the Tier VI talent for better Damage Output.
  • Tier V: Ursol’s Vortex is the best option.
  • Tier VI: Dream of Cenarius is arguably the best option for the AoE build since it synergizes directly with Incarnation. The resulting benefits can scale up to a 50% Eclipse damage increase. However, it is gimmicky since it requires you to time Eclipse correctly and add Healing Touch to the rotation. Alternatively, you may use Nature’s Vigil since it’s easier to utilize, yet it results in a considerably lower Damage Output.
