Retribution Paladins in Mists of Pandaria benefit the most from professions that increase their primary stat, Strength. They favor professions that can grant the highest amount of raw Strength to maximize their performance. They may also choose professions that directly enhance Attack Power or their Haste for their Sanctity of Battle passive.
Best Professions
In Mists of Pandaria, many professions have uniform bonuses regarding raw stats, resulting in a bonus of 320 in that specific stat for primary stats and 640 for secondary stats. Some professions, such as Herbalism, Tailoring, or Engineering, provide far greater bonuses, yet only for a limited duration.
The best professions for Retribution Paladin in MoP Classic are:
- Tailoring – Allows you to create valuable Cloth items and gives you access to Swordguard Embroidery, resulting in a 4000 Attack Power bonus for a short duration. This is the highest Attack Power bonus that you can acquire from professions.
- Engineering allows you to create Gadgets and Bombs and grants access to Synapse Springs, which grants a short 1920 Strength buff.
- Blacksmithing – Gives you access to two additional sockets, Socket Gloves + Socket Bracer. Allows further stat customization.
- Herbalism – Grants Lifeblood, offering up to 2880 Haste for 20 seconds. This results in an average 480 Haste bonus.
Useful Professions
- Inscription – Grants the ability to craft Glyphs and access to the Secret Tiger Fang Inscription, resulting in a 320 bonus Strength.
- Alchemy – Grants Mixology, enhancing all Flasks & Elixirs. The bonus depends on the items you use.
- Leatherworking – Grants access to Fur Lining – Strength, resulting in a 320 bonus Strength compared to the normal enchant.
- Jewelcrafting – Grants access to special Serpent’s Eye gems with increased stats.
- Enchanting – Allows you to add extra enchantments to your rings, resulting in 320 Strength.
Sub-Par Professions
- Mining – Grants Toughness, increasing Stamina by 480. Inefficient stat for Retribution Paladins.
- Skinning – Grants Master of Anatomy. It has weaker stats than other professions, granting a 480 Critical Strike Chance bonus.
