In this part of the guide, we’ll be covering gems for every coloured socket, which enchants to use (and alternatives) and which consumables to have prepared for your experience in Azeroth.
Gems
Low-Gear
- Red/Blue: Glowing Nightseye, Glowing Shadow Draenite
- Yellow: Great Dawnstone (If you need the Hit Rating) or Gleaming Dawnstone
- Red/Yellow: Veiled Noble Topaz (If you need the Hit Rating) or Potent Noble Topaz
- Red: Runed Living Ruby
High-Gear
- Red/Blue: Glowing Tanzanite, Infused Amethyst
- Yellow/Blue: Lambent Chrysoprase, Vivid Chrysoprase, Polished Chrysoprase
- Red/Yellow: Shining Fire Opal, Potent Fire Opal
*Solid-colored gems are the same for Phase 1, regardless of tier.
Enchants
Armor
- Head: Glyph of Power (Requires Revered with The Sha’tar)
- Secondary Choice: Hoodoo Hex (This is from Zul’Gurub)
- Shoulders: Greater Inscription of Discipline (Requires Exalted with The Aldor) or Greater Inscription of the Orb (Requires Exalted with The Scryers)
- Secondary Choice: Power of the Scourge (This is from Naxxramas)
- Cloak: Enchant Cloak – Subtlety (Warlocks generate substantial amounts of threat, so any chance we get to reduce that threat, is always a good choice)
- Chest: Enchant Chest – Exceptional Stats
- Wrist: Enchant Bracer – Spellpower
- Hands: Enchant Gloves – Spell Strike (Should only be used if you need the Hit Rating) or Enchant Gloves – Major Spellpower
- Legs: Runic Spellthread or Mystic Spellthread (Generally, this will be a cheaper option)
- Feet: Enchant Boots – Boar’s Speed
- *Ring: Enchant Ring – Spellpower (Requires Enchanting)
- *Ring: Enchant Ring – Spellpower (Requires Enchanting)
Weapon
- One-Handed + Two-Handed: Enchant Weapon – Soulfrost or Enchant Weapon – Major Spellpower
Consumables
- Flasks: Flask of Pure Death, Flask of Supreme Power (Does provide 10 less spell damage than Flask of Pure Death, but it affects every school of magic, rather than just Shadow)
- Battle Elixirs: Elixir of Major Shadow Power, Adept’s Elixir
- Guardian Elixirs: Elixir of Draenic Wisdom, Elixir of Major Mageblood
- Potions: Super Rejuvenation Potion, Destruction Potion, Super Mana Potion, Super Healing Potion
- Food: Blackened Basilisk, Crunchy Serpent, Poached Bluefish, Skullfish Soup
- Miscellaneous: Soul Shard, Scroll of Intellect V, Dark Rune, Demonic Rune
