PvE Restoration Shaman Talents, Builds & Glyphs

wotlk pve restoration shaman talents, builds & glyphs

When it comes to Talents and Builds for PvE Restoration Shaman, we only have two standard builds that are completely viable. These builds offer two possible gameplay rotations, with one focusing on providing more mana management and focusing on a specific “filler spell”, while the other build focuses entirely on empowering another “filler” spell while providing less mana management.

Throughout this guide, you can click on a section to expand it and see details!

Talent Builds

This build benefits from increased mana management through the use of Totemic Focus, reducing the overall cost of your totems while also providing reduced Threat generation through the use of Healing Grace. While using this build, you will want to use Lesser Healing Wave as your main healing spell (Filler Spell).

The second build focuses entirely on empowering Healing Wave through talents such as Improved Healing Wave and Healing Wave, forgoing points in Healing Grace. The rest of the build works entirely as the first build. Naturally, your main spell (Filler Spell) will become Healing Wave, aiming to reduce its casting time as much as possible.

Notable Talents

  • Improved Shields increase the efficiency of your elemental shields, making this an extremely strong talent for both your Water Shield and your Earth Shield.
  • Ancestral Fortitude offers a buff on the target that reduces overall physical damage received by 10% and lasts for 15 seconds. This buff can be procced by several of your healing spells, offering high defense as most damage received in the game has the physical archetype.
  • Mana Tide Totem is one of your strongest talents as it provides one of the best mana regeneration tools in the game.
  • Cleanse Spirit is probably one of the most appreciated spells by the Shaman community, as we finally receive a spell to remove curses!
  • Nature’s Blessing is one of your strongest talents, allowing you to transform 15% of your intellect into raw healing power.
  • Tidal Waves is a talent that allows you to empower your filler spells, having a 100% chance to proc when you use Chain Heal or Riptide. An extremely strong talent overall.
  • Riptide is the final talent of the Restoration Tree for Shamans, offering the class a strong reliable Heal-over-Time effect. This spell is mandatory for all Restoration Shamans!

Glyphs

When it comes to glyphs, we must understand that every glyph has a situational use — there is no overall combination of glyphs that can be considered the “best”. If we truly desire to maximize our potential, we will want to use different glyphs for different situations. This of course will mostly apply to raiding, as dungeons will generally not require you to swap your glyphs.

Major Glyphs

Glyph of Chain Heal increases the number of targets affected by Chain heal by one additional target. This glyph is a strong choice with high applicability, and is mandatory for fights that will involve your group receiving heavy amounts of AoE damage.

Glyph of Earth Shield increases the amount healed by Earth Shield by 20%. This glyph is extremely strong for single target healing situations, you can combine this Glyph with two other glyphs for maximum single target glyphs.

Glyph of Lesser Healing Wave increases the amount healed by Lesser Healing Wave by 20% if your target is affected by Earth Shield. This is one of the glyphs that are extremely strong in combination with the Glyph of Earth Shield.

Glyph of Healing Wave causes your Healing Wave to heal you by 20% of the amount that you heal when healing someone else with the spell. This glyph can be extremely strong for single target healing, especially in fights where you have to solo heal.

Glyph of Healing Stream Totem increases the amount healed by Healing Stream Totem by 20%. This glyph can be extremely strong in AoE fights — your party will surely appreciate the increased passive healing!

Glyph of Earthliving Weapon increases the chance of Earthliving Weapon to proc by 5%. This glyph can be extremely strong in both AoE and single-target situations, especially in AoE due to the way Chain Heal functions.

Minor Glyphs

Glyph of Renewed Life removes the need for a reagent for Reincarnation. Nobody wants to find themselves in a situation in which you run out of Ankhs! This glyph removes the possibility of making that mistake.

Glyph of Water Shield increases the charges of Water Shield by 1. This glyph is very useful in fights that have AoE damage; in these instances, the additional charge will increase your overall mana regeneration by quite a hefty amount.

Glyph of Ghost Wolf grants your ghost wolf form a passive regeneration effect that recuperates 1% of your health pool every 5 seconds. This glyph is very useful during your early journey, especially while leveling.

Ignore Healing Focus talent, the tank should never lose threath to a point where you need te reduced pushback
Instead i find really good to get those 3 extra points in Elemental Weapons!
