Welcome to the section of the guide that will be covering mounts obtained through PvP – that may be through Honor Points, Arena Rating, or through miscellaneous means.
Honor Points
There are a total of five available mounts to be obtained in exchange for Honor Points. Each mount is a different color of their race-specific mounts, and will cost you 16,650 Honor Points per mount.
Players wishing to obtain these mounts can do so by visiting Lieutenant Karter just outside the Champion’s Hall.
Mounts include: Black War Steed, Black War Tiger, Black War Elekk, Black Battlestrider, and Black War Ram.
There are a total of five available mounts to be obtained in exchange for Honor Points. Each mount is a different color of their race-specific mounts, and will cost you 16,650 Honor Points per mount.
Players wishing to obtain these mounts can do so by visiting Raider Bork inside Orgrimmar, just outside the Hall of Legends.
Mounts include: Black War Kodo, Whistle of the Black War Raptor, Swift Warstrider, Red Skeletal Warhorse and Horn of the Black War Wolf.
There is one mount that Alliance players can purchase from the Stormpike Supply Officer, Thanthaldis Snowgleam, and one that Horde players can purchase from the Frostwolf Supply Officer, Jekyll Flandring.
Each of these mounts cost a whopping 50,000 Honor Points!
Miscellaneous PvP Mounts
Black War Mammoth
Identical in nearly every way, this mount has the same prerequisites for both Horde and Alliance. If your faction (or rather, layer) achieves victory in Wintergrasp, you can visit the Wintergrasp Quartermaster, Knight Dameron for Alliance and Stone Guard Mukar for the Horde.
The price for this behemoth is 300 Stonekeeper Shard.
Dark Riding Talbuk
In order for players to obtain either of these variations, they must obtain two types of tokens – Halaa Battle Token and Halaa Research Token. Neither mount is faction-exclusive.
Horde can purchase these mounts from Coreiel, and Alliance can purchase them from Aldraan in Halaa.
Dark Riding Talbuk costs (15) Halaa Research Token and (70) Halaa Battle Token
Dark War Talbuk
In order for players to obtain either of these variations, they must obtain two types of tokens – Halaa Battle Token and Halaa Research Token. Neither mount is faction-exclusive.
Horde can purchase these mounts from Coreiel, and Alliance can purchase them from Aldraan in Halaa.
Dark War Talbuk costs (20) Halaa Research Token and (100) Halaa Battle Token
Arena PvP
Deadly Gladiator’s Frost Wyrm
In order for a player to obtain this mount, they must finish the Arena Season (5) within the top 0.5% of arena teams. A feat, no doubt, that might be out of reach for many. In addition to receiving the mount, players will also receive Deadly Gladiator’s Frostwyrm.
Furious Gladiator’s Frost Wyrm
Similar to above, the way in which players may obtain this mount is by finishing the Arena Season (6) within the top 0.5% of arena teams.
In addition to receiving this mount, players will also receive Furious Gladiator’s Frostwyrm.
Relentless Gladiator’s Frost Wyrm
Similar to above, the way in which players may obtain this mount is by finishing the Arena Season (7) within the top 0.5% of arena teams.
In addition to receiving this mount, players will also receive Relentless Gladiator’s Frost Wyrm.
Note:
During the Burning Crusade, players who achieved similar success to the above, in Arena, were rewarded with the ability to obtain (4) different mounts. As of each season ending, it is no longer possible to obtain the mounts.

- Swift Nether Drake (Season 1)
- Merciless Nether Drake (Season 2)
- Vengeful Nether Drake (Season 3)
- Brutal Nether Drake (Season 4)
