In this section we will be covering the stat priority list for an Enhancement Shaman as it applies to PvP combat in Wrath of the Lich King!
- Hit Rating
- Spell Penetration
- Armor Penetration
- Haste
- Attack Power
- Expertise
You will require a 3% minimum Hit Rating for any melee class for PvP scenarios, but you should aim for 5%, since you are a dual-wield class.
Now, let’s discuss Spell Penetration. As a hybrid class, you will want to make sure it’s not only your melee strikes that will hit the enemy, but that your spells will reach their mark as well. Spell Penetration ensures that your spells, such as the Frost Shock, will not be resisted by your opponents – our recommended rating for this is 75.
Armor Penetration is an extremely powerful stat in Wrath of the Lich King, so it should be stacked as much as possible to try and reach the closest to the cap, that being 1231.
As far as Haste goes, you require at least 5%, but should aim for a higher rating. See, with how our class functions, Windfury Weapon is of massive help, considering the frequency of our attacks. With an increased Haste rating your Windfury procs have a higher chance to happen, so if you want an optimal rating for decimating your foes, try to reach for 8%.
Attack Power works in the same manner as Spell Power, amplifying your physical damage dealt (so, the overall damage of your physical abilities). Your Attack Power should be as high as possible. However, do not fret: you will gain a lot of Attack Power from both your gear and talents.
Expertise rating reduces the chance of your attacks being dodged or parried. This one will be crucial when you fight classes that rely on parry to mitigate damage. So, we highly recommend that your Expertise is as close to the cap as possible – that cap is 26.
