In this guide we will examine one build for the Enhancement Shaman which, thankfully, does not revolve around the use of the highly unpopular Lightning Shield. Instead, it focuses on a more compact and much more potent build that provides high burst capabilities, reduced damage, mobility, and survivability.
The high damage of the Enhancement Shaman comes from Stormstrike, the main ability of the specialization which your gameplay will revolve around. It is an instant cast that works pretty much like the Crusader Strike of the Retribution Paladin, inflicting massive damage on your enemies. Lava Lash is another instant cast damaging ability you will find yourself spamming. And, to complete your perfect burst capabilities we will add Feral Spirit, which provides you with a group of trusty wolf companions that will chase your enemies in a bloodthirsty rush.
The build offers high survivability with the following talents: Toughness, which increases your stamina by 10% when five points are added, Elemental Warding, which reduces the damage received by 6%, and Shamanistic Rage, which is an active ability you can use to further reduce your damage received by 30%, as well as regenerate your mana.
Then, we will have two mandatory points spent on Frozen Power to give your Frost Shock a freeze effect.
Our mobility will come from the Improved Ghost Wolf, which removes the cast time from the Ghost Wolf, offering us very strong kite capabilities alongside Toughness. The Ghost Wolf ability itself offers us plenty of time to create distance between us and the target, or to catch up to the opponent in case of pillar kiting.
The Earthen Power talent is also a must – it gives our Earthbind Totem a 100% chance to remove snare effects inflicted on us and our allies.

3 in ancenstral knowledge is a waste and guardian totems is a must… 2 sec off grounding totem and better stoneskin is required in arena
