Besides your gear and talents, there are 3 additional ways you as a player can increase your character’s power: gems, enchants, and consumables, which make your character significantly more powerful when combined correctly.
Many guilds and raid groups may not invite you at all if you don’t have the correct gems, enchants and consumables — but fear not, this guide will help you avoid that problem!
Gems
Gems listed first are what you’ll want to get in early phases, while the second gem listed will be your goal for the mid-late game. Click to see details, discussion, and/or alternatives (where required)!
Note that this guide is a work in progress, and explanations for slot choices will be added at a later date.
In all phases, these will be your two choices. You’ll want the Persistent Earthsiege Diamond if you find that the current meta/your MMR contains lots of comps with stun effects, otherwise you can slot a Relentless Earthsiege Diamond to prioritize damage over survivability.
When it comes to red gems, you will want an entire assortment of them. Early on in the expansion, you will want to stack on gems such as Bright Scarlet Ruby and Bright Cardinal Ruby. Later on in the expansion, when you start mixing your PvP gear with your PvE gear, you will want to stack as many Fractured Scarlet Ruby or Fractured Cardinal Ruby as possible.
You will also want to acquire 2 or 3 expertise gems such as Precise Scarlet Ruby or Precise Cardinal Ruby to deal with pesky classes that have a high dodge chance and a high parry chance.
You will want to use Mystic Autumn’s Glow and Mystic King’s Amber in every yellow socket, especially with hybrid PvE/PvP equipment!
When it comes to our blue sockets, we will only want to use one blue gem such as Enchanted Tear or Nightmare Tear to activate our meta gem. In the rest of the blue sockets, you will want to use the red gems we mentioned earlier.

Consumables
As a Subtlety Rogue in PvP, the best flask that you can acquire is Flask of Endless Rage. It provides you with a raw attack power bonus that you can use in Battlegrounds and the Open-World!
Fish Feast will be the standard food for battlegrounds, offering the best possible stats. However, if you do not find yourself in a battleground, or the group itself does not have any Fish Feast available, you can use Hearty Rhino for increased armor penetration!
As a Subtlety Rogue, the best option you can use in PvP is the Potion of Speed. The only alternative to this potion is the Free Action Potion, which grants you the same effect as a trinket.

how do u cap on expertise with this items ?
You dont. Author mindlessly copies from google, he doesn’t give a crap about these “caps” of yours. He gets his dirty money for filling the site, not for the informativeness of the content.
Hi there! The concept of expertise in PvP is largely misunderstood. If you checked the stat page, you will notice that I mentioned that it is not advised to cap expertise in PvP, rather acquire a bare minimum to counter “Tank Builds”. I do care about each and every one of you! That is why I always post my own content instead of a copy-paste! If you check other guides that I made, I do strongly advise the community to send any feedback regarding any mistakes that I made, since I know that from time to time I can be either wrong or simply miss on a couple of things.
Capping Expertise for PvP can be very tricky, especially in earlier Phases. Often you’ll end up sacrificing too much to reach your cap. So while Expertise is very valuable, it isn’t worth focusing all your attention on.
