Blizzard Opens Free Character Transfers For WotLK's Launch

Anticipating that servers will get overcrowded, Blizzard is being proactive about potential server lag issues, by enabling free character transfers in advance. These transfers will remain open until WotLK launches on September 25/26. They urge players who are interested in transferring off their current servers to use them ASAP, because they may be closed without warning as server populations change.

In specific, the following transfer options are currently available:

While we intend to keep these Free Character Transfers open through the weekend and until the launch of Northrend content, we strongly encourage players who wish to use a Free Character Transfer to do so as soon as possible. Free Character Transfers may be closed without warning as we continue to evaluate the populations of realms.
