This guide will cover how to get the Aegis rune for Paladins in Season of Discovery. We’ll go over all of the locations and requirements in the walkthrough below as well as any useful tips and tricks.

How to Get the Aegis Rune
As of Phase 6, all runes and skill books can be purchased from Rune Brokers in starting zones and major cities for 1 copper a piece. Each of these vendors is simply named “Rune Broker” and can be easily spotted by their purple glow, lurking very close to where new characters enter the game. You can see all of their locations in our guide below.
Original Discovery Method
This rune can be found in either Dun Morogh or Elwynn Forest.
Dun Morogh (
Alliance Zone)
To get the Aegis rune, you will need to be level 8 and have the Purify ability trained.
Head to the entrance to Gnomeregan in the northwest corner of Dun Morogh and look for a Wounded Adventurer around 26, 44. He will be lying on the ground with a toxic green tint and two debuffs: Encroaching Leprosy and Toxic Gas. If he does not have the debuffs, he has just been cleansed by another paladin and you will need to wait for him to respawn.
Cast Purify on him to get Rune of Aegis. If there are multiple paladins around, you can do this in a group so you don’t have to wait for him to respawn.
Elwynn Forest ( Alliance Zone)
To get the Aegis rune, you will need to be level 8 and have the Purify ability trained.
Head into the Jasperlode Mines in Elwynn Forest and look for a Wounded Adventurer at the end of the spider section, around 62, 48. He will be kneeling on the ground with two debuffs: Necrotic Infection and Spider Venom. If he does not have the debuffs, he has just been cleansed by another paladin and you will need to wait for him to respawn.
Cast Purify on him and then speak with him to get Rune of Aegis. If there are multiple paladins around, you can do this in a group so you don’t have to wait for him to respawn.
