Rune Engraving is a new system for Season of Discovery. It allows each class to tailor their gameplay experience by unlocking new unique abilities! In this guide you’ll find all of the runes that are currently available for Druids in Phase 6 of SoD as well as some new skill books and class items.

Druid Epic Class Discoveries

Phase 5 added a new class quest for Druids that rewards an epic class item, the two-in-one staff Gla’sir/Rae’lar. To find out how to get your hands on this powerful new Druid weapon, check out our Gla’sir & Rae’lar Guide.

There is one other significant item for druids in Phase 5. Crystallized Starlight allows Balance Druids to swap out their Moonkin Form for Astral Form. Take a look at our Crystallized Starlight Guide for where you can find it!

Druid Skill Books

In addition to runes, there are also skill books in the game that will teach you new spells. Here are the skill books that are available for Druids in Season of Discovery. Like the runes listed below, these skill books can now all be purchased from the Rune Broker in each race’s starting zone for 1 copper.

Druid Runes

One important thing to note when collecting Druid runes is that most of them are learned through idols, which are equipped in your character’s relic slot. You will need to open your character window and activate them from there in order to learn the rune. Each idol has its own requirements that must be met before it can be activated.

Druid Runes From Rune Brokers

All runes can now be purchased from Rune Brokers in starting zones and major cities for 1 copper a piece. Each of these vendors is simply named “Rune Broker” and can be easily spotted by their purple glow, lurking very close to where new characters enter the game. You can see all of their locations in our guide below.

are feral druids still going to need crowd pummeler?

Crowd Pummeler requires level 29, so for Phase 1 it will be unusable. With the current set of Runes, MCP would absolutely still be the best Druid weapon, but Phase 2 Runes may change that significantly.

Why in the word soul they put Mangle and Lacerate both on glove rune?

I thought for my Berserk rune it was bugged, but after hours of trying to get it, I finally figured out why it didnt proc, it was because I had demoralizing roar debuff on the target too, you can’t use demoralizing roar and challenging roar at the same time, so FYI don’t use demoralizing roar 😉

I’m very worried about Druid mana cost and lack of ability usage as restoration Druid. I foresee just lifebloom wild growth spam. Simply because rejuvenation cost too much mana and regrowth as well. At least in a raid setting. In dungeons the whole toolkit will be used. But I feel like it will be a TBC playstyle with heavy lifebloom usage. I hope they buff rejuvenation and regrowth.

Also mana cost variation is horrible for resto Druid and balance Druid. Definitely hoping for a 2 min innervate or 3 min cool down and the world clear casting.

otherwise just like classic we will just be bringing feral and tank druids for the new windfury totem for alliance druids.

excuse me, but where the hell do you get off giving a faction defining ability like windfury to druids and therefore giving the alliance faction access to it?!
and to add insult to injury you make it an aura (doesn’t even need to cast a totem!) which makes it BETTER than a shaman’s windfury totem?!

Ok, that’s fine as long as you buff shamans grace of air totem by dumping a blessing of kings on it, and buff shamans strength of earth totem by dumping a blessing of might on it, and while we’re at it, you should just delete tranquil air totem and make it an aura that shaman can turn on and off at will, with no mana cost!

incompetence doesn’t even begin to describe this heretical decision.

It’s not better. Read it. Melee attacks. Meaning hunters don’t get the buff. Windfury totem still better. The only reason they gave it to druid is because druid doesn’t benefit from the Shaman’s windfury, as it’s for mainhand weapon, not melee attack.
