This guide will cover how to get the Enlightenment rune for Mages in Season of Discovery. We’ll go over all of the locations and requirements in the walkthrough below as well as any useful tips and tricks.

- Slot: Chest
- Added: Phase 1
- Level: 8 (Required)
How to Get the Enlightenment Rune
This rune can be obtained in either Elwynn Forest or Tirisfal Glades.
Elwynn Forest (
Alliance Zone)
To get your hands on the Enlightenment rune, you will need to be at least level 8 and have the Polymorph ability trained.
Scattered around Elwynn Forest you might find some oddly placed animals. Why is there a larva in the woods?
Polymorph these creatures to cure them of their strange affliction and receive an Azora Apprentice Notes (be sure to loot it off the ground). Once you have six of these, you can combine them into Spell Notes: Enlightenment, which you can right-click to learn the Rune Engraving.
Tirisfal Glades (
Horde Zone)
To get your hands on the Enlightenment rune, you will need to be at least level 8 and have the Polymorph ability trained.
Go to any of the farms in Tirisfal Glades and look for Odd Melons. Use Polymorph on them and loot the Apothecary Notes they leave behind. Once you have six of these, combine them into Spell Notes: Enlightenment, which you can right-click to learn the Rune Engraving.

The human way worked for my gnome too.
For undead, to get enlightenment, you need to polymorph the melons in the farmsteads. 5 or 6 of them and you get it.
For Humans, you need to polymorph 6 of any random critter that seems out of place across Elwynn Forest. Cat, Larva, Gazelle, Ram. Combine the Azora Apprentice Notes they drop.
