The Deftkin Belt is a very strong and potentially pre-raid Best in Slot belt for several Agility based classes, like Rogues, Druids, Enhancement Shamans and Hunters. This belt is only available to Horde players. Alliance players may want to consider Windborne Belt as a quested alternative. Deftkin Belt is particularly powerful as it has both Agility and Attack Power. This Attack Power is equivalent to 6 Strength for some classes, making this belt a lot stronger than other green items available from quests.
To start this quest you will need to be at least level 23. Find Tideress in Ashenvale. This named Water Elemental can be found on the small island east of Talondeep Path, or in the surrounding water (Coordinates: 50, 69~). Tideress is a level 27 non-elite with a roughly 10 minute respawn time. Like all Water Elementals, Tideress is immune to Frost damage.
On kill, Tideress will always drop a Befouled Water Globe. Use this to start the quest “The Befouled Element“. This quest will ask you to bring the Befouled Water Globe to Mastok Wrilehiss at Splintertree Post in Ashenvale. Turn it in for a small bit of exp and grab the followup, Je’neu of the Earthen Ring.
Mastok Wrilehiss will ask you to bring it to the Shamans on the Zoram Strand, as they will know more than he does. If you have already unlocked the flight path to Zoram Strand, you can simply fly there. If not, it’s time to trek to the western coast of Ashenvale. Take care not to walk through Astranaar!
Turn the quest in to Je’neu Sancrea, at the Horde base on Zoram Strand for your choice of Deftkin Belt, Driftmire Shield, or Soft Willow Cape. While the cloak and shield are alright items, the Deftkin Belt is oddly powerful for a level 23 quest green.
