Mental Dexterity Rune – Season of Discovery (SoD)

This guide will cover how to get the Mental Dexterity Rune for Shamans in Season of Discovery. We’ll go over all of the locations and requirements in the walkthrough below as well as any useful tips and tricks.

How to Get the Mental Dexterity Rune

As of Phase 6, all runes and skill books can be purchased from Rune Brokers in starting zones and major cities for 1 copper a piece. Each of these vendors is simply named “Rune Broker” and can be easily spotted by their purple glow, lurking very close to where new characters enter the game. Original Discovery Method

These directions are shared with the Pain and Suffering Rune for Priests. When completed as a group, only one Shaman or Priest needs to have the items to obtain the runes.

Start by killing Wastewander mobs in Tanaris to obtain the Wastewander Cipher and Coded Warlock Notes. These items are not soulbound, so you may also be able to buy them from the Auction House. You can also skip ahead and buy the item they combine into.

Wastewander Thief will drop the Wastewander Cipher.
Wastewander Shadow Mage will drop the Coded Warlock Notes.

Combine these two items by right-clicking one in your bag to receive the Deciphered Warlock Notes.

Now, head over to one of the tents near the hills (58.7, 36.5) to find a Cryptic Scroll of Summoning on the ground. It will have a tooltip name, but it will not be clickable. Stand on top of it and use the Deciphered Warlock Notes.

This will summon an Enraged Voidwalker, a level 43 elite demon. Kill and loot it to get the Rune of Mental Dexterity.
