New Avalon Tailoring Quests for Phase 8 of Season of Discovery (SoD)

Phase 8 of Season of Discovery has added a handful of new quests for the Tailoring profession. These quests award two new patterns for a 24-slot and a 30-slot bag. There is also a new crafting station for Tailors, the Crusader’s Loom, which is required for crafting the Cloth version of the Scarlet Uniform.

Where to Start the Quests

The quests for Tailoring are offered by Taylor Stitchings, the Tailoring Supplies vendor inside one of the houses in town. You will need to be wearing a disguise in order to pick up his quests, but he does not attack you even if he is marked as an enemy.

Holy Threads

Taylor Stitchings offers this quest first. It requires creating 200 pieces of Dawnwoven Fabric.

Dawnwoven Fabric is created as a byproduct when you craft a Bolt of Runecloth next to the Crusader’s Loom, which is right beside the quest giver. You will need 5 pieces of Runecloth to craft each bolt, and each bolt will also create 10 Dawnwoven Fabric. The quest requires 200 Dawnwoven Fabric total, which means you will need to craft 20 bolts. That means you should bring 100 pieces (5 stacks) of Runecloth to complete the quest.

Handing in this quest will earn you Pattern: Crusader’s Knapsack, allowing you to craft a 24 slot bag, Crusader’s Knapsack. You will then be able to pick up the next quest below.

Red is Not Dead

After completing the quest above, Taylor Stitchings will offer this one next. This quest requires handing in the following items. We’ve also listed where you can obtain each one.

• Red Dye
  • Sold by many Trade Supplies, Tailoring Supplies, and Leatherworking Supplies vendors, conveniently including Taylor Stitchings himself
• Red Rose
  • Sold by a handful of Florist and Herbalism Supplier vendors, including Abatha Rainwater, who is inside a house in New Avalon (93, 79)
• Firebloom
  • Gathered with Herbalism in Searing Gorge, Tanaris, Blasted Lands, and Badlands
• Blood of Heroes
  • Found on the ground throughout Eastern and Western Plaguelands, including in New Avalon. Looting it will summon a hostile elite Fallen Hero.
• Crimson Bladeleaf
  • A new material added in Phase 8, found in Azshara along the edge of Lake Mennar, near the entrance to the Azuregos raid instance. Does not require Herbalism to pick.

Completing this quest will award you Pattern: Crimson Dawnwoven Bag, allowing you to craft the epic 30-slot Crimson Dawnwoven Bag.

Crusader’s Loom Location in New Avalon

In addition to the quests and patterns above, Phase 8 added a new crafting station for Tailors that is required for crafting the Cloth version of the Scarlet Uniform. The Crusader’s Loom is found right beside Taylor Stitchings. You can use the loom even without a disguise, although you will have to deal with the mobs in the area.
