New Avalon Weekly Quest Guide for Season of Discovery (SoD)

Phase 8 of Season of Discovery has brought a new quest hub to the game, New Avalon. This town also functions as the new headquarters of the Scarlet Crusade, and is the source of many powerful new Scarlet Crusade-themed items that have been added in the phase, including a new set of tier gear for every build. The weekly Prove Your Worth quests allow you to exchange crafted Scarlet Uniform pieces for other valuable items, including tokens that are needed to purchase the new tier items as well as some valuable high-level crafting materials.

Where to Start the Weekly Quest

The weekly quest in New Avalon is offered by Bryon Steelblade, the Scarlet Quartermaster inside the keep. He will be in the first room on the right when you enter the building.

The Prove Your Worth Quest

There are eight versions of the weekly Prove Your Worth quest, each tied to one of the Scarlet Uniform slots:

  • Prove Your Worth: Belt
  • Prove Your Worth: Chestpiece
  • Prove Your Worth: Legguards
  • Prove Your Worth: Wristguards
  • Prove Your Worth: Boots
  • Prove Your Worth: Gloves
  • Prove Your Worth: Shoulderpads
  • Prove Your Worth: Headgear

There are two possible ways to complete each quest.

The first method is to craft a piece of Scarlet Uniform gear that goes in the required slot. This can be done if you have Blacksmithing, Leatherworking, or Tailoring and an appropriate crafting pattern learned. If you do this, you will not have to turn in the item you crafted to complete the quest. You will be able to keep it and use it, trade it, or sell it on the Auction House.

If you aren’t able to craft one of the items yourself, you can get one via trade or the Auction House and bring it to the quartermaster. Click on the Armor Crate next to him to loot

Quartermaster's Crate. Use this item when you have an appropriate gear piece in your inventory and you will combine them into Heavy Crate. Talk to the quartermaster and tell him “I have a crate to contribute to the cause!” Then you will be able to turn in the quest. Note that with this method, you do lose the piece of gear in the process.

However you complete the quest, you will get a

Scarlet Junkbox as your reward.

Scarlet Junkbox Rewards

When you turn in the quest and receive your

Scarlet Junkbox, you’ll find some combination of the following items inside.

These rare and valuable items will almost always be present in the box:

These crafting materials are much more random and won’t always be there:

Scarlet Uniform crafting patterns also have a low chance of appearing in the box.
