WoW Classic allows players to invest up to 51 Talent Points into any of the three available specializations for each class, resulting in many possible builds! Balance Druids have two main standard builds that they can opt for, the former specifically designed for maximum damage output while the latter designed as a Hybrid Damage/Healer offering a bit of flexibility for any dire situation.
Talent Builds
The Standard Talent Build for Balance Druid features many key talents that must be taken to ensure optimal performance. The build works for both Dungeons and Raids, emphasizing talents such as Improved Starfire, Moonglow, Nature’s Grace, Moonfury, and Moonkin Form. Spending points in Restoration is also mandatory to ensure you reach Reflection. Insect Swarm is also a great touch, albeit optional as some players opt to not use it at all since it deals Nature Damage. How you choose to reach Reflection is entirely up to you, but Nature’s Focus is often the better option, especially if Tranquility is required in dire situations.
The main issue with the Balance Talent Tree is that there are no Hit Chance amplifying talents making the itemization process quite painful for Boomies. In addition, the Mana Cost reduction talents are not that strong either, making Balance Druids dependent on high Mana Pools from gear.
This build is much more subjective and depends entirely on the raid composition of your guild and the designated role you receive. With this build, you can choose whether to maintain Moonkin Form and play similarly to the Standard Build or you can choose to fully spec as a Hybrid Healer. The full Hybrid spec will replace 2 points from Improved Starfire and 1 point from Moonkin Form in favor of 3/5 in Nature’s Focus and 1 point in Nature’s Swiftness.
The build works fairly well even if you don’t choose to forsake Moonkin Form, banking on increased healing with Rejuvenation from Improved Rejuvenation and clutch heals from Healing Touch thanks to a reduced cast time.
