Shaman Runes
One important thing to note when collecting Shaman runes is that most of them are learned through icons, which are equipped in your character’s relic slot. You will need to open your character window and activate them from there in order to learn the rune. Each icon has its own requirements that must be met before it can be activated.
New Runes in Phase 5
There were two new runes added for the Finger slot in Phase 5 of Season of Discovery: Healing Specialization and Meditation Specialization.

I wish Shamans had 2 hander PVE option
Same, chest “powers” discriminate it
It’s pure math: Two-Handers don’t scale as well as Dual wielding, due to talents like Flurry, Enrage, and of course WF’s internal CD. The procs/min vs the duration of said buffs simply align, with Two-Handers.If you wanted two-handers to actually be viable, you’d need Flurry to last 2 or 3 times as long, being able to stack, and then some. You’d also of course have to increase in internal CD of WF to almost 4 seconds – Thereby a 25% decrease in perfect procs/min, so you’d have to buff the damage of said procs, too. the list just goes on and on.
Wouldn’t a simple solution be to reduce the cd on stormstrike while using a single 2h weapon or make it give a permanent attack speed buff. It seems possible without too much work.
WF does infact NOT have an internal CD. I’ve been playing with shield and dagger like maybe 1-2 weeks ago on HC. I’ve had Back to back WF’s, it’s amazing!
Shamans won’t be able to use 2h in SoD. You think blizzard is going to just give them dw. It will have to be specced into which means replacing 2h in skill tree
That is not how Season of Discovery works at all.
Chest “powers” have no point for two hander encha shaman… why is two hander made now to be worse than dual wield? + you need talent for it in tree….Makes no sense…
Because you 1 shot ppl in pve if you get lucky.
2hander was always bad, in terms of DPS. The addition of the Dual Wield-talent was the single biggest buff to Enhancement in TBC. Enh simply isn’t viable in PvE without DW. Has nothing to do with Stormstrike, or WF, or anything. Its just the fact that you have a slow weapon, and essentially nothing to really elevate it.
Minor spelling mistakes here and there, but otherwise a nice quick write up of the spells. Am excited for shaman tanking. It’s a dream come true.
Bro why can’t blizzard get anything right man… look the shaman tanking is dope and all, but wtf is this dual wield BS?? nobody liked it in TBC and onward and nobody likes it now.. can we PLEASE for the love of god have some 2h love?! like what the hell man… okay look, just keep this the way it is and give enh shaman a rune that gives them a whirlwind attack that works strictly with 2H ok?.
something like a warriors whirlwind that does elemental (wind) damage on a 6-9 second cooldown and hits up to 4-5 targets and grants the shaman a free windfury proc on his next attack ok? thats all 2H spec needs.
besides this, reduce the cooldown on stormstrike from 20 seconds to 10 seconds baseline (for both dual wield and 2H) and we’re gucci.
P.S PLEASE DON’T BREAK THE GRAPHICAL ANIMATION FOR WINDFURY AGAIN!!!! VERY IMPORTANT!!!
Damn bro U got nothing but complaints on every page just stop reading it at this point and skip SoD go play classic era its not good for ur health to get so mad and who are you even talking to blizzard wont read the comments on god damn warcraft tavern they barely listen in the forums LOL
History is repeating itself. They already got rid of 2h shaman and we complained to no avail. I don’t care if there is a dw option but at least give us runes for 2h. They say they want all classes op so give us a rune that makes WF proc more on 2h and increase AP buff and crit chance. Also giving druids access to WF means they bring better buffs all round to group.
I Have certain key problems with these rune options for paladin and druid (and to a degree shaman) that i want to at least address here rather than say nothing (even if you deem it is not the proper forum for it).
Namely the blatant THEFT of shaman’s key abilities (Tremor, Windfury, Strength/Agi totems) and the problem of shaman once again being soft locked into dual wielding for melee DPS meaning that 2-handers by proxy will become an unviable option if nothing is being done to make them an attractive weapon choice.
If I (and other players) don’t object now, what you see here will end up being set in stone and therefore it will likely never change.
This is why the time to voice any concerns about it is NOW and not in 2 years when the meta has been formed and changing things around would provoke great anger in the playerbase at large.
You sir, can kick rocks.
You’re dumb bro, Shaman mains want 2H. We’re not gonna stay quiet.
I could easily see them add love for 2h beyond lvl 25. SoD seems to be Beta/Game rolled into one. Could be some crazy stuff coming out. I think best thing for you and others to do is let Blizzard know on their forums. I think with SoD they’re actually going to listen more.
2 handed is such ass bro i wanna hit more than once every 40 seconds. DW is the single best change that shaman ever got.
I believe what you are describing is a Paladin
Am I reading it right, now tanking shaman is a new possibility in Classic? Also gigahyped to revive elemental shaman, no bloodlust tho 🙁
My 2h shaman will have healing rain, water shield, and shaman rage I guess. At least I’ll have mana. I won’t be invited to raids though
What am I saying. The rune doesn’t give the ability to dw which means it was put in our tree. What gets replaced in the tree? Oh yea the ability to use 2h weapons. Guess I’ll be wielding a staff with WF
lava burst, duel wield spec, and shamanistic rage will be the 3 runes a enhance shaman will need to get in order to do big damage with windfury x2 and stormstrike. Can’t wait
Rockbiter or FT for Enh DW?
Ancestral Guidance in Kolkar area in Durotar, big tree i ncross roads, click skeleton and have party member click portal thing to get corpse to loot rune
