This guide will cover how to get the Earth Shield rune for Shamans in Season of Discovery. We’ll go over all of the locations and requirements in the walkthrough below as well as any useful tips and tricks.

How to Get the Earth Shield Rune
To obtain Earth Shield, you must complete multiple steps. You will need to be at least level 25 for this.
To begin you must kill Baron Aquanis, the first boss in the Blackfathom Deeps raid. He will drop a Strange Water Globe which you can right-click to start the quest Baron Aquanis.
Head to the Zoram’gar Outpost in the northwest of Ashenvale (11.6, 34.2, see map below) and speak with Je’neau Sancrea to turn in this quest and pick up the next one, Elemental Distress. For this quest, you will need to kill various elementals to loot three different motes:
- Mote of Seismic Rage from Enraged Stone Spirits and Furious Stone Spirits at The Charred Vale in Stonetalon Mountains
- Mote of Infernal Rage from Burning Destroyers, Burning Ravagers, and Rogue Flame Spirits at The Charred Vale in Stonetalon Mountains
- Mote of Torrential Rage from Befouled Water Elementals at Mystral Lake in Ashenvale
Now, before you head back to Zoram’gar Outpost, you should acquire an Elixir of Wisdom and an Elixir of Water Breathing, which will be needed for the next step. You can get these either by crafting them with Alchemy or by purchasing them on the Auction House.
Once you have all three motes and both potions, head back to Zoram’gar Outpost to turn in the quest and pick up Elixir of Insight. This will combine the elixirs you brought with you into an Elixir of Insight. Drink this elixir beside the nearby bonfire to experience a vision and progress to the next quest, Hirzek.
Head to the south of The Barrens and kill Hirzek (43, 79, see map below). He is a level 25 elite quilboar with a level 25 elite elemental at his side. You may want to bring some help for this fight.
When he’s dead, head back to Zoram’gar Outpost one more time to turn in the quest and receive your rune.

i have done the kill in BFD but i cannot fint the followup?
He’s the blue troll in zoram Strand that you turn the water globe into. If it doesn’t show up, type /reload and it should be there!
thanks i found out it bugged the first time so i didnt got the quest done on first boss inside raid
TAUREN EARTHSHIELD IS IN THE BACK RIGHT SIDE OF RFD ENTRANCE (Not instance but the area)!!!
