How to Get the Fury of Stormrage Rune
This is the first rune you’ll be able to pick up, and you’ll do so through a quest in your race’s starting zone.
Night Elves
To get the Fury of Stormrage rune, you will need to be level 4 and have the Moonfire ability trained. You can start the quest and pick up the idol at level 2.
Once you reach level 2, you can pick up the quest Relics of the Kaldorei from Mardant Strongoak, the Druid Trainer at Shadowglen in Teldrassil. You can find him by climbing up the ramp at Aldrassil, the giant treehouse, and entering the first door on your left. This quest will direct you to kill Grellkins, which are also a requirement of the quest The Woodland Protector, so you may want to do that at the same time.
One of the mobs will drop a Lunar Idol. Right-click the idol to equip it in your relic slot. With the idol equipped, you’ll need to kill 6 creatures while they have your Moonfire debuff active on them. These must be creatures of a level that grant you experience or they won’t count. Keep in mind that Moonfire only lasts 9 seconds and it must be active when the enemy dies. You will gain a stack of the Building Inspiration buff for each success. Note that you will lose this buff if you die or swap out your idol. When your buff changes to Inspired, the idol can be activated.
To activate the idol, you can open your character window and right-click it to learn the rune. You should now see Fury of Stormrage in the Runes panel of your character window. You can click on it and then click on your chest slot to apply and use it.
Tauren
To get the Fury of Stormrage rune, you will need to be level 4 and have the Moonfire ability trained. You can start the quest and pick up the idol at level 2.
Once you reach level 2, you’ll get the quest Relics of the Tauren from Gart Mistrunner at Red Cloud Mesa in Mulgore. The quest will direct you to a chest called Bristleback Loot Cache in Brambleblade Ravine. You can enter the ravine through the cave entrance at 58, 85. Navigate your way through the twisting paths until you reach a small ledge at 61, 76. Loot the chest to obtain a Lunar Idol.
Get the quest, kill a grellkin or grell, get the idol, equip the idol then kill 6 creatures with moonfire debuff. You have to have learned Moonfire, which is not until level 4.
Good point about the level requirement! I’ve fleshed out the directions and included it.
Will it drop twice I used it on accident before I was able to
I messed this up aswell
You’ve just equipped it in your relic slot. Open your character window to use it 🙂
and it has to be of the same level as you for the idol to tell you about it
Can it drop if you already completed the quest and came back to the zone?
Anyone else having issues adding this to an action bar? I applied it and I see it in my spellbook and on my cloak but I can’t add it to the action bar.
Side note, I played Warlock prior to this and was able to add runes to the action bar for them.
Nevermind. It just “is” active 🙂
