How to Get the Kill Shot Rune
As of Phase 6, all runes and skill books can be purchased from Rune Brokers in starting zones and major cities for 1 copper a piece. Each of these vendors is simply named “Rune Broker” and can be easily spotted by their purple glow, lurking very close to where new characters enter the game. You can see all of their locations in our guide below.
Original Discovery Method
To obtain the Kill Shot rune, go to Stonetalon Mountains and look for a hut near the fork in the road at 60, 62, southeast of Sun Rock Retreat. Inside you’ll find Jixo Madrocket, a goblin who offers the quest Wild Wyvern Wrangling.
When you have the quest, head to Ashenvale and kill Furbolgs until one drops a Wild Magic Essence. These can be found north of Astranaar or west of Splintertree Post. Next get a Greater Magic Wand, either by crafting it through Enchanting or purchased from the Auction House. Combine the two items to create a Gnarled Wand of Wild Magic.
Next you must defeat Mutanus the Devourer, the last boss in the Wailing Caverns dungeon. He will drop a Hypnotic Crystal.
Head back to Jixo Madrocket in Stonetalon and turn in the quest to pick up one more, Wrangling a Wild Wyvern. Follow Jixo as he tames a wyvern, and you will be able to complete the quest and receive your rune. You’ll also receive a Wyvern Taming Wand, which you can use to tame a Young Pridewing as a pet.
This quest is bugged. Make sure you are the only one who is attemding this quest. I just lost my hypnotic crystal and wand just becouse someone clicked on him at the same time.
Take wyrm pets? Is this an out of combat pet I assume?
