This guide will cover how to get the Molten Blast rune for Shamans in Season of Discovery. We’ll go over all of the locations and requirements in the walkthrough below as well as any useful tips and tricks.

How to Get the Molten Blast Rune
This rune can be discovered in Durotar or Mulgore.
Durotar (
Horde Zone)
To get the Molten Blast rune, you must be at least level 4 and have Earth Shock trained.
Find the Frozen Makura east of Razor Hill in Durotar, around 69, 58. Attack it with fire spells to loot a Sulfrous Icon. You may need the help of another Mage, Shaman, or Warlock to damage the makura quickly enough to destroy it. Luckily, Mages will be looking to do this for their Burnout Rune and Warlocks will be after the Chaos Bolt Rune.
Right-click the icon to equip it in your relic slot. Then kill 10 enemies with Earth Shock. Make sure that the killing blow is dealt with Earth Shock to gain stacks of Inspired. After gaining 10 stacks of the buff, open your character window and right-click the relic again to receive your rune.
Mulgore ( Horde Zone)
To get the Molten Blast rune, you must be at least level 4 and have Earth Shock trained. You can pick up the item before then.
Head to the Bael’dun Digsite west of Thunder Bluff and kill Bael’dun Appraiser and Bael’dun Digger until one drops an Artifact Storage Key. Then look for an Artifact Storage Chest nearby, around 31.6, 49.5. With the key in your inventory, open the chest to loot a Sulfrous Icon.
Right-click the icon to equip it in your relic slot. Then kill 10 enemies with Earth Shock. Make sure that the killing blow is dealt with Earth Shock to gain stacks of Inspired. After gaining 10 stacks of the buff, open your character window and right-click the relic again to receive your rune.
