This guide will cover how to get the Shadowstrike rune for Rogues in Season of Discovery. We’ll go over all of the locations and requirements in the walkthrough below as well as any useful tips and tricks.

How to Get the Shadowstrike Rune
As of Phase 6, all runes and skill books can be purchased from Rune Brokers in starting zones and major cities for 1 copper a piece. Each of these vendors is simply named “Rune Broker” and can be easily spotted by their purple glow, lurking very close to where new characters enter the game. You can see all of their locations in our guide below.
Original Discovery Method
This is the first rune you’ll be able to pick up, and you’ll do so through a quest in your race’s starting zone. Unlike other Rogue runes, this rune can only be obtained in your race’s starting zone. You won’t be able to complete the quest in other starting zones.
Dwarves & 
Gnomes
To get the Shadowstrike rune, you must first reach level 2. Then enter Anvilmar, the big building in Coldridge Valley in Dun Morogh, and find the Rogue Trainer Solm Hargrin (28.4, 67.5).
Accept the quest Thrice Stolen, then head to the cave that’s on the southern edge of Coldridge Valley. Inside, hug the left wall, and near the back of the cave on a ledge you’ll find a Frostmane Loot Cache (30.8, 80.1). Loot this chest to get Rune of Shadowstrike, which you can right-click to learn the rune.
Humans
To get the Shadowstrike rune, you must first reach level 2. Then you can talk to the Rogue Trainer, Jorik Kerridan, at Northshire Valley in Elwynn Forest and accept the Thrice Stolen quest.
When you have the quest, go to the Northshire Vineyards, and in the south of the area, find the Defias Stashbox at (52.5, 51.9). Loot this chest to get Rune of Shadowstrike, which you can right-click to learn the rune.
Night Elves
To get the Shadowstrike rune, you must first reach level 2. Then you can talk to the Rogue Trainer, Frahun Shadewhisper, at Shadowglen in Teldrassil and accept the quest Second-Story Work.
This quest will direct you to a ledge on the southernmost roof of the building where you’ll find an Idol (59.7, 42.6). Loot this container to get Rune of Shadowstrike, which you can right-click to learn the rune.
Orcs & 
Trolls
To get the Shadowstrike rune, you must first reach level 2. Then find the Rogue Trainer Rwag in the Valley of Trials in Durotar (41.3, 68.2), inside the tunnel of The Den. Accept the quest Atop the Cliffs from Rwag. Next, head over to the bonfire and take a look at the cliffs above Frang — knowing what you’re looking for will help you find your objective.
Now go north from the bonfire, and take a left to continue west, following the cliffs until you reach a gap you can head through (40.7, 65.0).
At the top of the rise, head left at the tree and continue to the far end of the cliffs. From here, drop down and you’ll be able to jump to a Hidden Cache (43.2, 69.6). Loot this chest to get Rune of Shadowstrike, which you can right-click to learn the rune.
Undead
To get the Shadowstrike rune, you must first reach level 2. Then find the Rogue Trainer at Deathknell in Tirisfal Glades, David Trias (32.5, 65.6). He offers the quest The Scarlet Rune.
When you have the quest, then go east and slightly south to the southeastern corner of the area. Here you’ll find a small camp of Scarlet Converts. Use Pick Pocket on them until you get Rune of Shadowstrike, which you can right-click to learn the rune.
