This guide will cover how to get the Way of Earth rune for Shamans in Season of Discovery. We’ll go over all of the locations and requirements in the walkthrough below as well as any useful tips and tricks.

How to Get the Way of Earth Rune
As of Phase 6, all runes and skill books can be purchased from Rune Brokers in starting zones and major cities for 1 copper a piece. Each of these vendors is simply named “Rune Broker” and can be easily spotted by their purple glow, lurking very close to where new characters enter the game. You can see all of their locations in our guide below.
Original Discovery Method
This rune can be discovered in either Silverpine Forest or The Barrens.
Silverpine Forest (
Horde Zone)
To get the Way of Earth rune, head to Silverpine Forest and look for Rot Hide Mystics, level 12-13 undead gnolls, at the Dead Field, a farm in the northwest corner of the zone. Kill them until one drops a Rot Totem.
Right-click this item to use it and summon a Decayed Elemental, a level 15 elite. Killing this enemy will net you an Earthen Rune, which you can right-click to learn the rune.
The Barrens ( Horde Zone)
To get the Way of Earth rune, you must be at least level 12 and have the Purge ability trained.
Head to The Barrens and look along the road between The Crossroads and Ratchet for a green ghost named Desert Mirage. Cast Purge on the ghost to destroy it and loot an Earthen Rune, which you can right-click to learn the rune.
About the Author
You get it from Elite mob in barrens called Desert Mirage (lvl 15). After purging, elite insta dies and every shaman in group can loot it for rune. Coords ~58 ~36, right from road in bushes.
