This guide will cover how to get the Shock and Awe rune for Paladins in Season of Discovery. We’ll go over all of the locations and requirements in the walkthrough below as well as any useful tips and tricks.

How to Get the Shock and Awe Rune

Getting the Shock and Awe rune requires first acquiring the Righteous Vengeance Rune, as you will be continuing the same quest chain.

To get started, use Dalton’s Horn, which Squire Cuthbert will give you when you turn in Dalton’s Quest. This will summon Squire Cuthbert as your very own squire, who will follow you and gain levels as you fight together. Go do that for a while until he reaches level 60. As he progresses, he’ll offer you two quests, A Lesson in Violence and A Lesson in Grace, to mark his progress.

Once your squire is level 60, he will offer the quest A Time to Kill. This quest will direct you to find the lich Arkonos the Cursed at the Noxious Glade in Eastern Plaguelands (87, 40).

Once there, get the next quest from your squire, Close Enough to Touch. You’ll need to kill Shadowmages and Dread Weavers nearby until you get a Scourge Shadow Scalpel that you can use to take down the barrier around the lich. Give this item to your squire and he’ll give you the final quest, A Time to Kill.

Now you’ll need to defeat Arkonos the Cursed. Doing so will allow you to turn in the quest and receive both the Shock and Awe rune and the Testament of Avenging Wrath skill book!
