My Old Enemy Quests Guide for Season of Discovery (SoD)

As you complete the introductory quest chain for the New Avalon quest hub and Scarlet Enclave raid in Phase 8 of Season of Discovery, you’ll unlock an additional chain of quests that tell a more personal story about Leonid Barthalomew the Revered, an undead member of the Argent Dawn. This chain leads players to the high-level northwestern corner of Eastern Plaguelands, where they’ll follow Leonid into Plaguewood, Terrordale, and the Undead wing of the Stratholme dungeon. How to Start the My Old Enemy Quest Chain

This quest chain unlocks after completing The Schism, the third quest in the New Avalon introductory quest chain that begins with Scarlet Activities. That chain starts with Leonid Barthalomew the Revered at Light’s Hope Chapel in Eastern Plaguelands, which is also where you will begin this chain.

My Old Enemy

After you have turned in the quest The Schism, this quest will become available from Leonid Barthalomew the Revered at Light’s Hope Chapel. To complete it, talk to Leonid again and progress his dialogue. Then speak with him again to turn in the quest and gain:

• 2 gold 43 silver
• 150 reputation with
  Argent Dawn

Leonid’s Burden

Upon turning in the quest above, this one will be offered by Lord Maxwell Tyrosus, who is standing right beside Leonid Barthalomew the Revered. This is another one that you just need to turn in to the same NPC, easy peasy!

All that you’ll get for this one is:

• 1 gold 22 silver

The Wrecked Caravan

Step back over to Leonid Barthalomew the Revered to pick up this quest next. You’ll need to head northeast to Plaguewood to seek out a lost caravan.

Follow the road toward Stratholme‘s main entrance. Before you reach the fork that leads to the dungeon, you’ll find the wreckage, with Leonid kneeling nearby. Look for a Dented Chest, a small black lockbox. Loot it to get the Research Notes and Mysterious Alchemical Sample.

Turn in the quest to Leonid for:

• 4 gold 41 silver
• 150 reputation with

Something New

You can pick this quest up from Leonid Barthalomew the Revered at the wrecked caravan site right after turning in the one above. You will receive New Plague Samples, which you must use on undead mobs in Plaguewood.

You’ll have to get their health below half before you will be able to use the item, and it must be used in melee range. Test the samples on any combination of 8 of the following: Cannibal Ghouls, Cursed Mages, Scourge Soldiers, Scourge Warders, and Stitched Horrors. Avoid the Hate Shriekers (banshees) and Putrid Gargoyles in the area as they are ineligible.

When you’re done, turn in the quest to Leonid Barthalomew at the wreckage for:

Servents of Death

Speak with Leonid Barthalomew the Revered at the wrecked caravan once again to start this quest. You’re testing another batch of New Plague Samples, this time on a Dark Summoner or Necromancer. These are living human mobs found inside some of the buildings in Plaguewood as well as at Corin’s Crossing in the south. Use the sample on one and return to Leonid to get:

A Personal Matter

Leonid Barthalomew the Revered now offers this quest at the wrecked caravan in Plaguewood. To complete it, head to the service entrance, or back gate, of the Stratholme dungeon.

The Culling

You will need a group for this quest to make your way through the Stratholme Undead dungeon.

After turning in the quest above to Leonid Barthalomew the Revered beside the back entrance to Stratholme, he’ll offer this one. To continue, you must enter the dungeon and reach the gates of Slaughter Square, the area where you find the last boss. Leonid will be inside the gate, which will only open if you have defeated the first three bosses. You will not need to clear anything past this point, however.

When you open the gate and find Leonid waiting, a brief scene will play out, and then you can turn in the quest to get:

Terrordale

When you turn in the quest above inside Stratholme Undead, Leonid Barthalomew the Revered will offer this one next. To turn it in, head to Terrordale on the western edge of Eastern Plaguelands. Follow the road through Plaguewood and continue west until you reach the town. You’ll find Leonid inside the northern house that is marked on the map.

Stomping Out The Infestation

After locating his house in Terrordale and turning in the quest above, Leonid Barthalomew the Revered will offer you this quest. He wants you to kill some of the nerubians in the area: 8 Crypt Fiends and 5 Crypt Walkers. If you can’t find the mobs you need in the town, head into the Terrorweb Tunnel via the cave entrance northwest of town.

When you’ve exterminated the local spider population, head back to Leonid to turn in the quest and get:

Loss

Once you turn in the quest above at his house in Terrordale, Leonid Barthalomew the Revered offers this penultimate quest. Upon starting the quest, another brief scene will play out, similar to what you saw in Stratholme. Then you’ll be able to turn in the quest to receive:

The Right Path

Having completed all of the quests above, Leonid Barthalomew the Revered will give you this final quest. Return to Light’s Hope Chapel to meet him back at his old spot on the platform. Turn in the quest to get your choice of trinkets as a reward:
