Stratholme is one of the most popular dungeons in the game, and is a key location for the storyline of Prince Arthas. It is here in Stratholme where Arthas betrayed Uther Lightbringer by killing subjects he believed to have the undead plague. The dungeon is typically treated as two separate wings, Living and Undead, although technically it is all the same instance.

Location & Map

There are two entrances to Stratholme. The main entrance is located in the northwestern corner of the Eastern Plaguelands zone, across a long stone bridge. There is also a “back door” a little to the east, marked by a cave entrance on the map. This is the Eastwall Gate, which requires the Key to the City to open.

The main entrance leads directly to the Living wing while the side entrance leads to the Undead wing, but they are connected and both can ultimately be accessed from either side.

Stratholme Wings

The dungeon is generally treated as two separate wings, Living and Undead. The living wing is referred to as such because it contains a large contingent of living Scarlet Crusade mobs while the Undead wing is dominated by the Scourge.
