Suzerain, Defender of the Dragonflights is a shield that is available for Warriors in Phase 5 of Season of Discovery. This guide will walk you through how to get your hands on this epic class item, which offers powerful stats and effects for Protection Warriors.

How to Get Suzerain, Defender of the Dragonflights

To start the quest to obtain Suzerain, Defender of the Dragonflights, you must first loot a Shimmering Golden Disk from Vaelastrasz the Corrupt, the second boss in the Blackwing Lair raid.

The item starts the quest The Golden Disk. The quest doesn’t give you much in the way of direction, but the NPC you need to find is Garek near the middle of the Badlands (61.8, 54.2). He will give you the next quest, Grim Batol.

This quest takes you to Grim Batol in the Wetlands. Be sure to equip the Simulacrum of the Dragon Soul so the Elites in this area don’t attack you. Speak with Riosus (74.2, 70.0) to progress to the next quest, Scale of the Dragon Lord.

Riosus gives you a Dragontooth Blade that you need to use on Nefarian inside Blackwing Lair in order to get a Flawless Black Dragonscale. This must be done when Nefarian is below 20% health. The item has a 2.5 second cast, so be sure to complete it and not interrupt it with another ability. The scale must then be bathed in Shadowflame to harden it, so you will need to stand with the tank and absorb Nefarian’s breath attack before he dies.

Then you’ll return to Riosus, where you’ll get your next quest, No Good Deed Goes Unpunished. With this quest, he’ll attack you in his dragon form, Riosustrasz. Defeat him near the edge of the platform and you’ll both fall off. You’ll then get the quest A Just Reward.

This quest will have to give the Simulacrum to Krasus to be destroyed. In return, he will give you your shield.
