Temple of Ahn’Qiraj Loot Guide – Season of Discovery (SoD)

Temple of Ahn’Qiraj revives itself in a new formula in Season of Discovery, coming in a new 20-player variant, featuring exciting new items, revamped sets, and even a new difficulty! To battle through the dangerous Temple of Ahn’Qiraj is to face off against madness and seek the most powerful and desired treasures.

New Difficulty Levels

The revamped Temple of Ahn’Qiraj comes into a new variant, now a standard 20-man raid instead of the original 40-man version. Players are still able to raid the temple with 40-man groups, although the attunement is specifically made for 20 players in Season of Discovery. In addition to the player-count calibration, the new raid also features an increased difficulty level in Season of Discovery!

Players can now activate a new difficulty named Descent into Madness by interacting with an obelisk before the raid’s first boss. By doing so, they can add new mechanics to each of the bosses inside the Temple of Ahn’Qiraj. The new difficulty doesn’t change the original mechanics of the encounter, but rather simply adds a new one for each boss that triggers every 30 seconds from the start of the encounter until its end.

Completing the Descent into Madness difficulty will yield bonus loot chests that contain items from the revamped Temple of Ahn’Qiraj. None of the bonus loot acquired from the new difficulty is specific to it, with the newly added difficulty only being a way to improve the number of looted items per run.

Tier 2.5 sets

The original 2.5 sets in WoW Classic were class-bound, available in only one variant per class. Season of Discovery introduces many sets, with each specialization getting its own unique set specifically designed for it.

Tier pieces can be obtained by turning in the appropriate tokens and items collected from the Temple of Ahn’Qiraj and the Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj raids. These tokens drop from bosses in the Temple of Ahn’Qiraj while the other items can drop from both raids. Each slot has its token, and the following classes share token types.

The Tier 2.5 sets are also bound to the Brood of Nozdormu reputation levels, players are required to reach the Neutral status to acquire the entire sets.

If you wish to know how to increase your reputation with the Brood of Nozdormu and simply forgot how to do it, check out our dedicated Blood of Nozdormu Reputation Guide.
