This guide will cover how to get the Power Surge rune for Shamans in Season of Discovery. We’ll go over all of the locations and requirements in the walkthrough below as well as any useful tips and tricks.
To get this Rune you will need to kill level 33-34 ogres in the cave at 35, 44 in Arathi Highlands. Keep killing until one of them drops an Ogre Lightning Rod (roughly 10% drop rate).
Location of the cave at (35, 44).
Head to the hill on top of the cave and use the Ogre Lightning Rod in the Soft Soil you find there. Note that you don’t need to find your own rod, and you can just be in the same party as someone who has found one and activated it at the top of the hill.
Cast Lightning Bolt on the Lightning Rod 10 times and a level 37 Elite named Tam’kar will spawn. Do not run away from this fight as you will not get the reward. You do not need to kill Tam’kar, you simply need to survive for a certain amount of time. Eventually he will die on his own, rewarding you with the Rune of Power Surge. (You will at least need to hit him once to loot the rune.)
