How to Get the Tidal Waves Rune
As of Phase 6, all runes and skill books can be purchased from Rune Brokers in starting zones and major cities for 1 copper a piece. Each of these vendors is simply named “Rune Broker” and can be easily spotted by their purple glow, lurking very close to where new characters enter the game. You can see all of their locations in our guide below.
Original Discovery Method
Head to Feralas and find the Old Crate outside a tent south of Camp Mojache (76, 48), yielding an OId Key. This opens an Old Chest that can be found underwater in the lake a little to the east (80, 49). Jump in, swim down, and you can find the chest near a sunken boat. Open it to claim your Rune of Tidal Waves.
Opening the chest will spawn four Simmering Elementals, level 41-42 elementals who are immune to Frost damage. You do not need to defeat them to get the rune.
