We’re now well into Phase 4 of Season of Discovery, and it looks like Phase 5 could be on the way soon! Blizzard announced today that they will be bringing the Blackwing Lair and Zul’Gurub raids to the PTR later this week.
Raid testing will begin on Friday, August 30th at noon PDT with no set end time, though it sounds like it should go at least through Saturday. You’ll be able to make a template character or copy one of your characters from live servers. You’ll also have easy access to Molten Core equipment as well as consumables and world buffs to make testing easier.
There’s no word on any other content that may be included in Phase 5. It was implied previously that we are unlikely to see any new rune slots going forward, though it isn’t impossible. We also had hints that Thunderaan, the final boss for the Thunderfury questline, might be made into an instanced boss like Azuregos and Lord Kazzak.
If you missed it, there’s also an imminent realm consolidation coming for Season of Discovery, although we haven’t been given a date for it yet.
Later this week, we will open the Season of Discovery PTR for testing Blackwing Lair and Zul’Gurub.
We intend to open the raids for testing at 12:00 Noon PDT (3:00 p.m. EDT) on Friday, August 30. So that testers can get set up, we will have:
- Character copy and template characters available
- Most Molten Core loot available from vendors
- The usual consumables and world buffs available
Please note that we want to be as flexible as possible with ending raid testing. We may need to bring the raids down at any time over the weekend, so we recommend you try to get in and test on Friday or Saturday if you plan to participate.
