Classic Era – Free Character Transfers Now Available for EU Servers

On the announcement of free character transfers for US Classic Era servers from yesterday, we predicted that a similar announcement would be made for EU Classic Era servers soon, as they are suffering from the same problems that precipitate the need for free character transfers to begin with.

It didn’t take very long for Blizzard to do just that, as Kaivax just announced that free character transfers for EU Classic Era servers are now available.

The strategy for EU servers appears to be straightforward:

PvP servers (Amnennar, Dragon’s Call, Dreadmist, Finkle, Flamegor, Flamelash, Gehennas, Harbinger of Doom, Heartstriker, Judgement, Lucifron, Mandokir, Patchwerk, Razorgore, Rhok’delar, Shazzrah, Stonespine, Sulfuron, Ten Storms, Transcendence, Venoxis, Wyrmthalak, Zandalar Tribe) are being consolidated into Firemaw.
Normal servers (Auberdine, Celebras, CHromie, Everlook, Hydraxian Waterlords, Lakeshire, Razorfen) are being consolidated into Pyrewood Village.

The same restrictions placed on US free character transfers apply here as well: you cannot have characters of opposite factions on a PvP server, are unable to transfer as a guild leader, etc.

Additionally, Kaivax stated that these transfers are also one-way and irreversible, Customer Support will not be able to reverse them, so think carefully before transfering.

Please note that restrictions apply:

A character cannot move if the character:
- is a guild leader.
- has active auction listings or bids.
- has mail.
You may be required to change your character’s name once you’ve reached the destination realm.
You cannot move a character to a PvP realm where you already have a character belonging to the opposing faction.
This is a one-way, irreversible move. Blizzard Customer Support cannot monitor or modify a free character move.

During periods of high usage, free character moves may take up to several hours to complete.
