Blizzard Entertainment turns 30 years old today. They started out as a small indie company February 8, 1991 making game ports, and transitioned to making original games by 1993. Warcraft came out late 1994 and 10 years later, in 2004 we were presented with World of Warcraft. WoW came to dominate the MMO genre and cemented Blizzard as one of the major players in the gaming industry.
Fifteen years later World of Warcraft Classic launched to unexpected success, and along with Runescape brings classic MMO gaming to the forefront. This year at the free-to-watch Blizzconline, we will most likely have Classic TBC to look forward to as well as Blizzard’s 30th Anniversary for celebration. It’s a good year to be a Blizzard fan!
