Molten Core Will Have a Weekly Lockout; Other Bosses Will Be Biweekly

Classic Wow Molten Core Attunement Guide Blackrock Mountain

Last week it was announced that Phase 4 of Season of Discovery would feature a new biweekly lockout schedule. After receiving a lot of feedback, the developers have decided to switch to a normal weekly lockout for Molten Core, but keep the biweekly schedule for the other three raid bosses in this phase:

*Updated 7/1/2024: After community feedback, Molten Core will now be a single, standard weekly lockout and Onyxia’s Lair, Lord Kazzak, and Azuregos will continue to be available with a twice weekly reset as previously announced.

It seems that many players were not happy about the idea of clearing an 11-boss raid twice a week in order to maximize their chances at loot. This compromise will still give players a reason to log in and play more than one night a week while not requiring quite as much of a time investment. The lockouts for the additional raid bosses will be on Tuesdays and Saturdays for North America and Europe, and Wednesdays and Sundays for players in Asia. Molten Core will unlock with the usual weekly reset.

Phase 4 launches on July 11th. The two world bosses will become available on July 18th, and the Molten Core and Onyxia’s Lair raids will be available starting July 25th.

NEW RAID LOCKOUT INTERVAL

Raid lockouts for Season of Discovery Phase 4 raids will occur regularly once a week for Molten Core and two times a week on static reset days for Onyxia’s Lair, Lord Kazzak, and Azuregos. Players in North America and Europe will have their resets for these bosses on Tuesdays and Saturdays and players in Asia on Wednesdays and Sundays.
