Blizzard shared their Phase 2 preview for Season of Discovery today, and among other things, they revealed some of the upcoming recipes for Professions.

The preview confirmed a 225 skill cap for Phase 2, with no specializations until Phase 3.

There are 20 new recipes coming for non-gathering professions. That includes Leatherworking, Tailoring, and Blacksmithing, all of which saw new recipes in Phase 1, as well as Alchemy, Enchanting, and Engineering. There will be a new quest chain required to unlock these recipes, presumably similar to the quests to unlock the Void-Touched recipes in Phase 1. The recipes will also require some new materials that are being added for Phase 2.

There were five recipes shown in the preview. Three of them were Bind-on-Pickup epic helms that can be crafted through Leatherworking, Tailoring, and Blacksmithing, giving players an alternative to the powerful Engineering goggles. Each of these helms includes an on-use effect:

  • Rad-Resistant Scale Hood (Leatherworking)
    • Remove poison debuffs and gain immunity to Nature damage for 3 sec every 10 minutes.
  • Gneuro-Linked Arcano-Filament Monocle (Tailoring)
    • Reduces mana cost of all spells by 50% and increases damage and healing by 50 for 12 sec every 10 minutes.
  • Reflective Truesilver Braincage (Blacksmithing)
    • Prevents silence, interrupt effects, and spell pushback for 10 sec every 10 minutes.

The other two recipes are Bind-on-Pickup items for Alchemy and Enchanting that provide personal gameplay benefits.

  • Enchanted Sigil: Innovation (Enchanting)
    • Increases spell power and attack power by 20 for 30 min every 30 minutes. Must be used out of combat.
  • Mildly-Irradiated Rejuvenation Potion (Alchemy)
    • Restores 262-438 mana and 340-460 health as well as increasing attack power by 40 and spell damage by 35 for 15 seconds.

The Phase Two Preview video also promised some new recipes for Engineering as well as some new enchants and potions/elixirs.

Profession Updates

After the positive reception to professions in Season of Discovery Phase 1, we are building and expanding on it significantly for Phase 2. Players will be able to discover approximately twenty new recipes across all non-gather professions. This includes recipes for Alchemy, Enchanting, and Engineering along with Leatherworking, Tailoring, and Blacksmithing. Professions will cap at 225 in Phase 2 and profession specializations will open later in Season of Discovery Phase 3.

Just like in Phase 1, players will be able to undertake an epic quest chain to unlock access. No spoilers though!

Recipes will also include some new materials that players will be able to find throughout the game and trade with others to get the items they need most to craft their wares. Here are just some of the recipes you will find:

Alchemists and Enchanters will find a couple of new recipes which can bring more utility and throughput into their own gameplay rather than simply creating things that they can use and sell to make a little extra gold.

Here are just a couple of examples:
