The previously announced names for WoW Classic Anniversary Edition realms have been changed, with realms in each region receiving their own unique names. Here are the realms you can expect to see at launch and the origins of those names:
North America
- Dreamscythe (PvE/Normal)
- Weaver and Dreamscythe are a pair of green dragon bosses in the Temple of Atal’Hakkar dungeon, also known as the Sunken Temple.
- Nightslayer (PvP)
- Nightslayer Armor is the name of the Tier 1 raid set for Rogues.
- Doomhowl (Hardcore)
- Urok Doomhowl is a special summoned boss in the Lower Blackrock Spire dungeon.
Europe
- Thunderstrike (PvE/Normal)
- Thunderstrike/Shadowstrike is a two-in-one polearm weapon that drops from Sulfuron Harbinger in the Molten Core raid, often affectionately called “Vendorstrike” because it is not commonly used.
- Spineshatter (PvP)
- Spineshatter is a mace that drops from Razorgore the Untamed in the Blackwing Lair raid.
- Soulseeker (Hardcore)
- Soulseeker is a caster staff that drops from Kel’Thuzad in the Naxxramas raid.
Australia
- Maladath (PvP)
- Maladath, Runed Blade of the Black Flight is a One-Hand Sword that drops from Broodlord Lashlayer in the Blackwing Lair raid.
North America
When new Anniversary realms open tomorrow, you’ll have a choice among the following in this region:

Nightslayer (PvP)
Doomhowl (Hardcore)
In Australia, we’ll open one mighty realm:
Maladath (PvP)
