- Expansion: WoW Classic
Back into the fray again! WoW Classic Anniversary Edition – also known as “Classic Classic” – is now live in all regions!
The launch begins a special three-week leveling phase for the game, with no raids available until December 12, when both Phase 1 raids, Molten Core and Onyxia’s Lair, will open.
In the meantime, we’ll no doubt see players racing to level 60, as well as all sorts of shenanigans on the new Hardcore progression realms. Be sure to check out our Leveling Guides and our many Class Guides to help you along on your journey.
Here’s a reminder of the features and changes for this version of WoW Classic:
- Looking for Group (LFG) tool:Â This tool is in the game now and will make it easier to find and create groups. (Note that this is a different tool than the Group Finder in modern WoW and will not teleport you to a dungeon or raid.)
- Services Chat Channel:Â No more portal, summons, and buffs spam in Trade or LFG channels, as these services have their own designated chat channel.
- Instant Mail:Â Characters on the same account are able to receive mail instantly, making it much easier for you to juggle stuff between your alts.
- No Buff/Debuff Limit:Â Vanilla WoW had a cap on the number of buffs or debuffs that could be up on any given character, which made some DoT-heavy builds less desirable in raids. That cap has been removed for this version of WoW Classic.
- Dual Spec:Â As we saw in Season of Discovery, dual talent specialization has made its way into this version of Classic as well. You will be able to swap easily between two builds without visiting your class trainer and paying an increasing amount of gold each time.
- New Guild UI:Â The modern guild interface is available in this version of Classic, and you will be able to choose between this newer UI or the original one according to your preference.
