With the end of maintenance the WoW Classic Season of Mastery beta has entered a new stage of testing, with increased levels up to 45, increase experience buff for quests from 25% to 40% , an additional PvP realm, and meeting stones for dungeons being enabled for summoning.
Also noted are additional planned changed for SoM realms that will be enabled at a later time.
The Season of Mastery Beta is back online and available for testing. With today’s update to the Season of Mastery Beta, we’re now testing the following changes:
- Player levels will now be capped at 45.
- The “Adventure Awaits” buff now grants 40% increased experience from Quest turn-ins (was 25%).
- Meeting Stones can now be used to summon appropriately-leveled party members for the associated dungeon(s).
- There is now a PvP realm available.
As a reminder, the following planned Seasonal changes are not yet active in the Season of Mastery Beta, and will be tested in future Beta updates:
- Increased Debuff and Buff limits.
- Increased health for raid bosses.
- Restored raid boss mechanics.
- Removal of world buffs in raid instances.
- Adjustments to curtail powerleveling and boosting.
Thank you!
I have limited playtime as of now in the beta but I cannot wait to quest some more and get a good feel as to how well-paced the leveling will feel once I’ve gone up a good few level. Also, weirdly, it has been a very long time since I have played WoW (any version of it) without any addons. I must admit even if I pretty much know the starting areas by heart it felt good to me to double-check quest text for info and run around a bit to make sure I got all quests before moving on. I know this has nothing to do really with the content the beta intends to test out but it felt relevant to my experience that I felt like taking it slower. Idk if the boost the quest XP makes me feel like I can go my own pace the way I want to without feeling like I am missing the boat. At the release of WoW Classic I took some time off and speedrun my way to 60. To this day I still don’t know if I had fun or was worth it. I stopped playing shortly after.
I hope they can find a way to slow people down a bit and encourage them to take their time and level the way they want and do the content the way that feels right to them. There will always be a better order to do stuff, a better path to take, a better party composition, etc. At the end of the day doing things just to get things feels a lot like work to me.
Just do queste with friends and do fun things. People in general, my advice, is not to focus on loot too much before lvl 60. Try to find the “smoothness” with the increased quest xp by doing lore chain quests and enjoy the lore once more.
Are the servers down at the moment. I can not seem to connect?
Any news?
why they don’t make this option on classic serv … we don’t want retry refresh
we want vanilla+ only this season = lost time totaly useless.
That’s the feeling I am starting to have as well. I feel like I had forgotten that this Mastery thing wants to be a seasonal thing. I don’t enjoy the rush personally, but I do enjoy fun gameplay and playing around with friends, and collecting stuff.
