Azuregos – 20th Anniversary World Boss

Welcome to our World Boss Guide for Azuregos in the 20th Anniversary Event! One of the original world bosses in Vanilla WoW, this Dragonkin boss can be found in Azshara, where he has returned for a limited time for World of Warcraft’s Anniversary.

This World Boss is required for the achievement The Originals.

Azuregos Location

Azuregos is located along the southern coast of Azshara (48.8, 84.3).

Here are the best ways to get there:

• Anyone can take the portal to Mount Hyjal in Stormwind City or Orgimmar and fly from there
• Alliance can fly from Darnassus
• Horde can fly from Orgrimmar
• Druids can use the portal to Mount Hyjal inside the Emerald Dreamway
• Dark Iron Dwarves can use their Mole Machine racial to get to Throne of Flame in Mount Hyjal

Azuregos Abilities & Strategy

Azuregos is neutral until attacked and has 879 million health. You can face this boss as low as level 15, since the encounter scales. As a World Boss, you will need a sizeable group to defeat this enemy.

• Frost Breath: Deals damage in a cone in front of the boss and leaves a six-second DoT. Don’t stand in front of him unless you are the tank.
• Aura of Frost: Causes nearby players to sometimes be entombed in ice when hit by his other frost attacks.
• Manastorm: Avoid the blue circles on the ground, as they will deal heavy damage to you and drain your mana.
• Chill: An AoE attack that reduces your movement speed.
• Reflection: When this goes up, be careful, as he’ll reflect a portion of any damage you deal back at your character.
• Mark of Frost: While you have this debuff, you have a chance of being stunned for 2 seconds by any of Azuregos’s other attacks.
• Arcane Vacuum: Teleports everyone around to the boss’s location. Run out if you can, but unless you have an immunity ability, you are very likely to be killed by his other effects before you can get out.
