Dornish Pike Farming Guide

The Dornish Pike is a common fish that is native to the lands of Khaz Algar! The fish has no special use other than being one of the main cooking ingredients for creating Fresh Fillet.

There are two main ways of acquiring Dornish Pike: Fishing and Skinning. The former method is quite obvious, with the Dornish Pike being native to the Isle of Dorn, The Ringing Deeps, and Hallowfall areas in the Khaz Algar zone. The latter method is quite odd, to say the least at first glance, but it proves to be quite effective as well, allowing you to gather Dornish Pike.

Fishing

The main way of acquiring Dornish Pike: is by fishing in Calm Surfacing Ripple. This specific Fish Pool mainly spawns in the Isle of Dorn, The Ringing Deeps, and Hallowfall areas. However, the Calm Surfacing Ripple has also been spotted in Azj-Kahet, meaning there is a certain element of randomness to the spawn locations. The best locations for fishing Dornish Pike are the Isle of Dorn and Hallowfall, as both areas have the highest spawn locations for the Calm Surfacing Ripple.

Additionally, with enough Fishing Perception from using the Algari Weaverline or from the Dornish Pike Lure consumable, you may also catch Dornish Pike by fishing in normal water.

Spawn Locations

One thing that you must clearly understand before embarking on your journey of farming Dornish Pike is the spawn rates of Calm Surfacing Ripples are influenced by the other Fish Pools present. This means that if other Fishing Pools are present, such as Glimmerpools, River Bass Pools, or Stargazer Swarm, the spawn rate of Calm Surfacing Ripples won’t trigger until the other Fishing Pools are cleared.

Skinning

The second way to acquire Dornish Pike is through the Skinning profession. This can be relatively efficient in case you face multiple competitors who specifically aim to farm the Calm Surfacing Ripple pools. Dornish Pike are contained in the Bizarrely-Shaped Stomach which can be acquired through Skinning.

There are only 6 mobs that drop the Bizarrely-Shaped Stomach, and only 1 of them is a Rare Mob. This means that you will be able to consistently farm specific areas to gather as many Bizarrely-Shaped Stomach as possible. However, the item drops a multitude of reagents and other consumables, with the Dornish Pike having a 6% drop chance.
