Rewards and Vendors

The primary currency for Hallow’s End are Tricky Treats, which players collect through daily quests, trick or treating at Candy Buckets, and the Loot-Filled Pumpkin that drops in the Headless Horseman dungeon.

The Wickerman areas outside Stormwind and Undercity serve as the main hubs for the Hallow’s End holiday event. There, players can spend their Tricky Treats at seasonal vendors to purchase some of the available consumables, pets, toys, and required quest or achievement items. There are four vendors at each faction hub:

Alliance:

Horde:

Candy purchased from event vendors or awarded in Candy Buckets can only be used during Hallow’s End, so enjoy these sweet treats and their visual effects while you can:

Activities

Daily Quests

Start by visiting Candace Fenlow in Undercity (Horde) or Gretchen Fenlow in Stormwind (Alliance) to receive quests to bomb the opposing faction’s city with stink bombs, then work to clean the aftermath in your own.

Visit the Wickerman outside the capital cities, and speak with Celestine of the Harvest (Alliance) or Darkcaller Yanka (Horde).

Headless Horseman

Within the Graveyard of the Scarlet Monastery, the Headless Horseman is summoned by foolish players who have queued for battle using the Dungeon Finder tool. Once gathered in the Graveyard, one player spawns the Headless Horseman by interacting with the Pumpkin Shrine. This begins a three-phase fight that rotates damage focus between the Headless Horseman himself, his detached head, and waves of Pulsing Pumpkins that spawn Pumpkin Fiends.

With their first defeat of the Headless Horseman on any difficulty, players will earn the achievement, “Don’t Lose Your Head, Man.” Once per day per eligible character, completion of the dungeon will award a Loot-Filled Pumpkin, which has a chance to contain a variety of gear and goodies, the elusive The Horseman’s Reins, plus one of four epic rings. Check out the “Rewards and Vendors” sections for more details on potential loot!

Hardmode

For players who are ready for more challenge, try the dungeon’s hardmode! Inside the dungeon are five Wicker Men who curse players when spoken to. The four smaller Wicker Men each give one curse; the large Wicker Man in the middle will give all four curses at once. Each player can opt to activate 1-4 curses on themselves by interacting with the Wicker Men. Note: This does not activate the curse for other players – everyone must interact with the Wicker Men to be cursed.

Defeating the Headless Horseman with all four curses active will award the achievement, “Kickin’ With the Wick.”

Trick or Treating at Candy Buckets

Visit inns of Azeroth to snag a treat from the pumpkin-shaped candy buckets near Innkeepers. Each bucket has an instant-complete quest that awards experience, gold, and the chance at the holiday treats and masks plus 1-3 Tricky Treats. But watch out, you can also end up getting tricked with a debuff that transforms your character into various creepy creatures.

Get a few more Tricky Treats by completing the annual quest, plus the four daily quests available from Innkeepers who need you to complete the accompanying emote at them. Start by picking up Hallow’s End Treats for Jesper! in Stormwind (Alliance) or Hallow’s End Treats for Spoops! in Undercity (Horde). They’ll direct you to the follow inns to complete your tasks:

Shade of the Horseman

Help defend the villages of Azeroth from the Shade of the Horseman! This event takes place every 30 minutes and should take about five minutes. Alliance players should head to Azure Watch, Goldshire, or Kharanos. Horde, get to Brill, Falconwing Square, or Razor Hill. Once you arrive, village matrons will ask for your help putting out fires in their buildings by using buckets of water.

Rewards include gold, temporary riding brooms, candy, a Weighted Jack-o’-Lantern, all inside a Crudely Wrapped Gift.

Wickerman

Each faction can receive a buff that grants mastery and stamina, lasts one hour, and persists through death. Every four hours, a city-wide message will broadcast. Players have 10 minutes to get to the Wickerman areas outside Stormwind and Undercity, and watch the event that unfolds. When the RP event ends, all nearby players are granted their faction’s buff:

While you’re in the area, be sure to pick up some ashes and use them on the Wickerman’s bonfire. Alliance will receive Unburdened, and Horde will receive Grim Visage, both of which give a 10% experience and reputation gain for two hours.

Achievements
