How to Get to Pandaria

how to get to pandaria

There is plenty of content you might want to play from the Mists of Pandaria expansion, and almost all of it will require finding your way to the continent of Pandaria. How you go about getting there depends on whether you have played through the expansion before. If you have, you should be able to skip ahead and access the continent via portal. But if you’ve never done any of it, or if you want to quest through The Jade Forest, you will have to go through the introductory quests. So we’ll start with those.

Starting the Mists of Pandaria story

Before you can access Pandaria, you will need to complete the Mists of Pandaria introductory quests on at least one character. If you haven’t reached level 50 on any character yet, you may need to complete the Dragonflight introduction before these options become available. We have a separate guide for that here. Once you have completed the introduction, you should be able to start the Pandaria expansion. Your character must be at least level 10 to start these quests.

This introductory quest chain will begin in your capital city before sending you off to The Jade Forest, which is the first zone in Pandaria.

You have three options to start the Mists of Pandaria introductory quests:

Option 1: Chromie Time

Find Chromie near the Stormwind Embassy. Speak with her to select a timeline. Select “Wilds of Pandaria” to start the quest Mists of Pandaria: To Pandaria!. This quest simply leads you to Grand Admiral Jes-Tereth and the quests listed below. You must be below level 60 to access Chromie Time.

Option 2: Hero’s Call Board

Head to the Hero’s Call Board in the center of the Trade District in Stormwind. Clicking on the board, you may see an option for “The Jade Forest.” Selecting this option will start the quest Hero’s Call: Jade Forest!, which will lead you to Grand Admiral Jes-Tereth and the quests listed below. If you do not see The Jade Forest as an option, you can select other options until it appears, and then abandon the others.

Option 3: Grand Admiral Jes-Tereth

Find Grand Admiral Jes-Tereth inside Stormwind Keep, right next to the throne. She will give you the quest The King’s Command and start the quest chain listed below.

On Foot

Getting to Shrine of Seven Stars from the ground requires completing three quests in Kun-Lai Summit. These quests require level 20.

First you will need to follow the road northwest from Paw’don Village and cross the bridge into Valley of the Four Winds. Once there, continue straight, cutting across the Thunderfoot Fields. At the bottom of The Veiled Stair, you will see a Messenger Grummle who will start the quest chain below.
