Spells in Plunderstorm are divided into two types, Offensive and Utility, with players able to hold two of each at a time. Unlike Items, Plunderstorm’s Spells have infinite uses, but they are limited by cooldown times that range from 5.5 to 22 seconds. Offensive spells focus on dealing damage, though some also offer mobility and crowd control effects.

Aura of Zealotry

New in Season 2, Aura of Zealotry is a spell that is particularly useful in Duos, offering a passive movement speed increase to your allies while equipped. When cast, it leaves a consecrated area on the ground that damages enemies who stand inside it and improves your movement speed and melee attack damage.

The other new spell for Season 2, Celestial Barrage, damages enemies in a line in front of you when cast. It’s important to note that although the tooltip for the spell doesn’t say so, this spell will also launch you backwards before you cast it. Holding down the key will extend the range on this ability. You’ll be able to change your aim while you hold it.

Earthbreaker has a cast time during which you are immune to crowd control, so other players can’t stop you from casting it. When it goes off, it deals damage in a large area around you, also stunning any enemies it hits.
Fire Whirl

Fire Whirl has a cast time, after which your character will channel the spell, causing you to charge forward and damage any enemies in your path. You can aim your direction while channeling, unlike many other spells that move you forward.
Holy Shield

The first time you cast Holy Shield, you’ll throw a shield in a straight line in front of you, damaging any enemies in its path. This action has a short cast time before it fires. You’ll then have a few seconds to use the spell again to cast Holy Ground, triggering an explosion at the shield’s current location. You can use this second ability as soon as you launch the shield to trigger it right on top of your character (just spam the button) or you can try to time it to hit something at a distance. You’ll have a few seconds to do this before the ability reverts and goes on cooldown.
Mana Sphere

Mana Sphere has a short cast time after which you will throw the sphere in a line in front of you, dealing damage and knocking back any enemies it hits. Holding down the key will cause the sphere to grow (also increasing your casting time), which will allow it to hit a much wider area.
Rime Arrow

Rime Arrow is a straightforward ability that deals damage to your current target from range on a short cooldown. The biggest advantage to this spell is that it can’t miss – you don’t need to aim it like most other spells. You just need to have your enemy targeted. As a bonus, it will also damage any other enemies who are close by.

Searing Axe deals damage in a cone in front of you when cast, knocking back any enemies it hits. This is a fairly simple and high damaging ability, but it requires being in melee range.
Slicing Winds

Slicing Winds launches you forward, dealing damage to any enemies in your path. Holding down this ability’s key will charge it, allowing you to leap a little further, but this will delay your launch.
Star Bomb
Star Bomb marks the area in front of you with a bomb that will explode after a few seconds. Any enemies in its area get pulled into the center when it goes off.

Storm Archon has a cast time each time it’s used, after which it does damage in a straight line in front of you. After using it the first time, you have several seconds to reuse it up to two more times before it goes on cooldown. If you still have a charge remaining to use, you’ll see an elemental shield around your character.
Toxic Smackerel

Toxic Smackerel has a cast time after which you will deal damage in a cone in front of you. You’ll also poison any enemies you hit, causing them to take damage over time. If they are already poisoned, you can slap them with this for extra damage.
