Pacts are an unique feature of The Severed Threads faction in The War Within. Each week you’ll be able to forge a Pact with one of the faction’s three leaders: The Weaver, The General, or The Vizier. Doing so will allow you to gain reputation with that leader, which in turn contributes to your renown with The Severed Threads. You’ll also be able to unlock unique abilities and rewards for the Pact leader you choose. You’ll need to have an active Pact before you will be able to see any World Quests in Azj-Kahet.

How to Unlock Pacts

To unlock pacts, you must reach Rank 3 Renown with The Severed Threads. You’ll then be able to pick up the breadcrumb quest Pacts Below from a little nerubian named Spindle in Dornogal (46.2, 50).

This quest will take you to The Weaver’s Lair to speak with The Weaver and progress to the quest Of Pacts and Patrons. For this quest, you’ll speak with the quartermaster of each pact leader to learn more about them. Then speak with Y’tekhi, the Severed Threads quartermaster, to choose your first pact and complete the quest.

How to Choose a Pact

To make a Pact with one of the three leaders of The Severed Threads, speak with Y’tekhi at The Weaver’s Lair in Azj-Kahet (57.6, 46.8). The leader you choose to aid will be selected for your entire Warband until the next weekly reset.

Each leader offers unique buffs and missions when you enter a Pact with them. They also have their own reward trees to progress through as you gain reputation, and their own vendors from whom you can purchase these rewards. You may choose to pick one Pact leader and stick with them until you reach a desired reward, or you can switch between them to unlock all of the lower tier rewards. Getting to Crony with The Weaver and The General unlocks Pheromones to access the different areas of the city, and all three Pacts unlock new Treasures at Crony rank.

When you make a Pact with one of the three leaders of The Severed Threads, you’ll be able to pick up the weekly quest for that leader from Y’tekhi in The Weaver’s Lair. The weekly quest awards 1500 reputation with the selected Pact as well as a cache of Adventurer’s loot. It also counts as a World Activity for The Great Vault‘s third row.

Pact Rumors and Treasures

As you progress through the ranks of your reputation with any one of the Pact patrons, you’ll unlock access to two special types of bonus objectives: Rumors and Treasures. You can purchase maps to these objectives from Pact quartermasters, but you can also find them on your own if you know where to look.

Treasures and Rumors both appear on the map as a purple spider icon. They are very simple side quests that do not reward any reputation, but each one gives some gold, Kej, and Valorstones.
