The Warband Bank functions like a sort of personal Guild Vault, providing you with a new location to store items and gold which can be accessed by your entire Warband – all of the characters on your account, including both factions. No more mailing items to your alts; just plop them into your Warband Bank and they’ll be accessible on any character who needs them!
Warband Bank Tabs
You can purchase up to five tabs for your Warband Bank, each holding 98 stacks of items for a total of 490 slots. That’s a lot of stuff!
Here are the costs to purchase each tab in the Warband Bank:
- First tab: 1,000 gold
- Second tab: 25,000 gold
- Third tab: 100,000 gold
- Fourth tab: 500,000 gold
- Fifth tab: 2,500,000 gold
It will therefore cost you a total of 3,126,000 gold to purchase all five Warband Bank tabs.
The slots in your Warband Bank can hold any item that isn’t soulbound. The tabs can be customized in the same way as the tabs in a Guild Vault, with icons and names as well as options for designating what items should go in which tab.
Any reagants in the bank will work just like those in your Reagant Bank – your characters will be able to use them for crafting without having to withdraw them first.
Gold can also be deposited and withdrawn in the Warband Bank on any of your characters.
Accessing Your Warband Bank
The Warband Bank can be accessed from anywhere that you can access your character’s personal Bank, as it is a tab at the bottom of the same window along with your Reagent Bank. This includes bankers in cities, Jeeves if you have Engineering, and the Goblin’s Pack Hobgoblin.
You can also access your Warband Bank using a new ability, the Warband Bank Distance Inhibitor. This ability is unlocked by completing the following quests, the first of which will automatically start when you log in to The War Within:
- Warbands: Warbanding Together
- You can use the Caverns of Time portal in your faction capital city’s portal room to reach Tanaris and fly to Gadgetzan.
- Warbands: Rift Reader
- Close 6 Transpositional Anomalies by clicking on them (they look like portals).
- Warbands: Space Ghosts by the Coast
- Defeat Partially Teleported Kobolds and Murlocs to loot 8 Spatial Residue. These don’t have a 100% drop rate so you will need to kill more than 8 mobs.
- Warbands: Twinsposition
- Click on the Transpositional Signal Recombobulation device and defeat the doppelgangers that appear.
- Warbands: Spacetime is Money
- Head to the Gadgetzan bank and place the De-Recombobulatron Matrix by interacting with the transparent outline on the floor.
Once you have completed these quests, this ability will appear in your Spellbook for all of the characters on your account. (Again, this is an ability in the Spellbook – not a toy in your Collections Toy Box.)
“The bank is being used by another member of your Warband”
There are two reasons you might see this message when attempting to access the Warband Bank:
- If you have more than one WoW subscription on your Battle.net account and another character is logged in and using the bank, any other characters who try to open it at the same time will see this message. All of your WoW subscriptions on the same account are part of the same Warband, and only one character can access your Warband Bank at a time.
- If Blizzard has taken the Warband Bank offline, this is the message that everyone sees. This happened during the first week of The War Within pre-expansion patch when the developers were working on fixing some bugs with the Warband Bank.
It’s possible that you might see this message when neither of the above are true, in which case a reset of your UI may be the fix.
